it will be okay

This is my photo for week 4 of the 52 Week Project. It is Lucas and I holding hands. We were sitting by the fire outside and he was crying because we were burning the Christmas Tree. He said "But I love the Christmas tree." I had to explain to him that next year we would have to get a new one because this one was dead. So we were burning it and it was going to Christmas Tree Heaven. (yes, the things I come up with to make these kids feel better). So, I sat there for a few minutes and held hands with him as he said "Goodbye Christmas Tree...I love you." Then he felt better.

So this photo actually means a lot to me. Just to know that in that moment I could comfort him and make him feel better by being there for him and holding his hand. To some it may seem silly that he was so sad over the tree. But that's Lucas. He is my super sweet, super-sensitive little boy, and I love him so much for it. He really is the most
loving person I've ever met.

So, this week I've turned this photo in to the critiques over at the 52 Week Project. It's sort of scary to turn a photo in to be critiqued. But I love the photo and can always use constructive criticism, so it'll be fun:) I know I could use some help on maybe getting different perspectives or angles. And it never hurts to ask someone for help, right? So I'm putting myself out there as the guinea pig. I hope they do it soon though, or I'll start worrying as I sometimes do. I try not to, but I guess it's a little in my personality.

Head over there, if you haven't been going. They have some really fun stuff going on and it is soooo laid back, which everyone knows I love. I am so excited to be a part of it this year.
