you are the sweetest!

Happy Saturday!

Saturday's mean Card Patterns!

We have a super sponsor this week....

SRM Stickers!

Make sure that you pop over to the Card Patterns blog to see not only the Card Patterns Design Team's cards but also the SRM Stickers Design Team cards!  Now how fun is that?

Here's a peek at my card:

Here's this weeks fab sketch:

I know...super fun, right?!!

I don't typically photog my cards at this particular angle, but I wanted you to see the smidge of yellow underneath the scallop:)  You would not have been able to see that if I had it 'sitting up'....My kids and I have been on a Strawberry kick for the last couple of weeks....love them...can't get enough of them!

I used the very fun, We've Got Your Sticker Plus-Strawberry Set on my card...how could I resist?  All the paper is from my highly neglected American Crafts pile.  There is some zig zag action with the 'ole stitching:)

I hope that you'll play along with us this week....I'd love to see how the sketch inspires YOU!  I really enjoy popping over to everybody's blog when they link up over at the Card Patterns blog...you gals are so very inspirational!

classic wedding

Classic Wedding...what does that mean to you?  I think of a formal ceremony & reception.  Do 'regular' people still do those?

I made this for a dear friend of mine that is getting married this summer...you know who you are so please don't look any further since you haven't received the card yet!

We spent some quality time together at Paper Source looking for wedding invite ideas for her...sooo many options that it was overwhelming for her.

She ended up going home with some embossed DIY invites...not sure if she'll keep them, but they are gorgeous.

Anywho's......I made this card to send to her....used my new Crate Paper Goodness, the sentiment is ala SRM.

I'm so very excited for her wedding...I haven't been to one in a long time..I'll live vicariously through her...if you follow me on Pinterest, I have several wedding oriented boards...the inspiration is never ending.

My card was inspired by the fab sketch over at Get Sketchy!

bloom and grow...

Yahoo for Saturday!

Saturday's mean sleeping in and crafting and also the new Card Patterns sketch!!!

First off though, I wanted to share our returning Sponsor for this week:

She has moved over to an Ebay shop HERE.

Craftbrulee is giving away a $10 voucher prize to one random participant of our sketch!

I love the things that she sent us and had fun putting together another card with her fabbie blooms....here is this week's Card Patterns Sketch 102:

This is my take on the sketch...Isn't that CraftBrulee bloom thee best?  All the wonderful layers and the gorgeous pearl center!

I wanted to let the bloom shine so I worked with the very fun Cosmo Pixie'licious papers....I love the lilac and green combo...check out my felt leaves...the wool felt is from Impress that I cut and stitched with vintage blue thread...it's the same color thread that I've used throughout my card...every panel has stitching!  The banner is Lawn Fawn and the sentiment, bloom and grow, is SRM.

Did you see this?

I'm telling ya....you won't want to miss this week long event!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by and I look forward to seeing how the Card Patterns sketch inspires YOU!

let it snow...

Okay, just so that I'm clear...I don't necessarily want it to snow...I'm just saying that to be festive...I have tons of stuff to do today and don't want to be 'snowed in'....

What's that?  My cards look suspiciously Christmas-y?  Yes, I know that it is January..January 2, 2011...btw, I had to have my Christmas tree curbside yesterday...January 1st by 9 am...yup, 9 am for it to be picked up for recycling...why does it seem that my tree gets taller when I need to get it out of my house and don't have any help?  It was pretty hilarious as I literally pulled it out of the house via my back french door...at 5 am...pretty sure my neighbors weren't thinking I was too neighborly...

Okay, okay...onto my cards...yes...cards....I made 4 of them...

Have you heard of the new challenge blog called

It is the fabbie idea of my bloggie buddies Stephanie and Lauren!  There are going to be weekly challenges through November...48 weeks of challenges....do a card a week and you'll have 48 fab cards by December...

This week's challenge is

something old, something new!

Something Old:  the paper that I punched the Stampin' Up snowflakes out with...it is from a vintage Japanese novel that I picked up from a rummage sale...

Something New:  the PTI  Sweet Symphony paper that I got for Christmas...I used the Hawaiian Shores sheet .

I teamed up the PTI paper with Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip and Really Red...the sentiment is SRM...the twine is a RAK from KarenB:)

My Goal with the help from the Jingle Belle crew?  Make multiple cards for each challenge so I have plenty of Christmas cards this year...another 'goal' is to make the cards fairly flat..sigh..my cards were "cha-ching" to send out last month because of my love of bumpy cards...those would be 2 very huge goals...crossing my fingers that I'm able to accomplish them...thanks for the help Jingle Belles:)

My cards were inspired by cardabilites #18:

**CRAK Alert**

Okay, that cracks me up:)

I wanted to share some of the remaining CRAKs that I received in December:

This is from Alice...for those that know Alice you probably recognize her work...most definitely her coloring skillz:)

As suspected by Alice, I LOVE the use of the non-traditional colors and her joyful facial expression:)

I wish you could see Ann's card up close and personal:

I have to admit that one of the first things I noticed when I pulled her card out of the envy was her 3 layers of cardstock for the front panel...3 layers...that puppy is over 300 lbs of paper...well, you know what I mean....She managed to do CAS with Pizazz!!  soooo TWEET!

Next up is Audrey's..

Gotta love the international mail with Christmas Flair!

This is Cheryl's beauty:

Great idea die cutting the card..popping in the trees and topping it off with the big bow...LOVE it!

Check out Gina's card!

Isn't it FUN?!!!  She's an art major and I adore her work!

Gloria....

Gloria is a G45 Goddess...that supports my love of Cosmo Cricket:)

Heidi, my fellow washingtonian:)

Seriously, who doesn't know Heidi and her skills with thinking outside the box...check out the tree trunk..genius!

Janine, is from my other homeland...Canada:)

Gorgeous, eh?  Had to fit the 'eh' in there:)

♥♥shut up♥♥  I really shouldn't have to say anymore about that sweet owl...

Laurel...my friend, fellow Canadian and challenge queen...

Dude, this girl is e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e!  Between hitting all the challenges and being GDT everywhere...she rocks the crafting world!!!

Martha is the queen of vintage and I adore her card...it made me sigh...

Michele..another Canadian...

Love the colors and the pattern...the interior reads:

Time to chase the snowflakes!

Such a gorgeous traditional Christmas card with POW...it is a gate fold card...

Another Canadian...this girl not only makes thee best cards but man she can whip up some wicked quilts and other sewn goodies...I keep telling her that she needs to open up an etsy with all her stuff...

Rose sent me a whole lotta goodness...and challenged me to do something with those glassine mini envies...muwahahaha....

Tami...

I wish you could see the fabbie embossing on this beauty from Tami...hey sista!!!!  Pretty hilarious as Tami has the opposite sleep pattern as me...she stays up really late and I get up really early and sometimes we're even up at the same time:)

Absolutely perfect....don't you love the pop of color?

aha...gotta love the owlie...Michelle is thee best..we chat about everything from Japanese Food to kids...yet another Canadian..

Naomi..you rock...

Good grief, who doesn't LOVE peppermint bark...

Okay, there you have it my peeps...thank you for hanging in there with me...

Gotta love this blogging community...everybody is thee best...

Happy New Year!!!!

Here's to 2011!!!!

2010 was such a GREAT year for me...I got engaged....I went to Winter CHA 2010....I was published TWICE in Paper Crafts Magazine plus so much more!  I'm truly thankful for the life that I have and look forward to what 2011 brings...

This is a ginormously long post so get ready:)

I wanted to start off the New Year with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, Strictly Stripes:

I was inspired by the:

 texture
the colors
 and
the stripes...

I decided to zig zag inbetween the various stripes of Stampin' Up cardstock...I picked zig zagging to kind of emulate the knitting...the sentiment is ala SRM...The card is 3.5 x 3.5 inches...

I went through my 2010 blog posts and picked out my favs for each month and thought that I'd share them with you...

January:

Oooohhhhh Aimes.....this one is for you!

February:

Seriously, you HAD to know that there would be at least ONE card with Cosmo Cricket goodness on it...

March:

I think this card meant more to me because I finally dehoarded that wonderful Melissa Frances frame...I'm working hard to dehoard ladies...

April:

I made this for a good friend of mine who is a quilter....this is probably one of my most heavily stitched cards...

May:

For those that know me...I'm a coffee-a-holic and had to include a coffee themed card...how fitting that it uses images from 2 Seattle based stamp companies...A Muse and DeNami Designs!

June:

In June 2010 I started to scrapbook again....this one is of my lovely girl {pic taken and altered by my boy}

I actually picked 2 for June...this is my first layout that I did in 2010....

My Boy!

July:

Of course I needed a layout of me and the man...I saw this quote on Design Crush and knew that it was perfect:

"And then my soul saw you and it kind of went "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you."
~unknown~

August:

Another Cosmo Goodness card....AND another Seattle based Stamp Designer...Sparkle Creations!  I picked this card for it's use of multi-patterns and paper piecing...2 things that I adore:)

September:

Ahhhh yes....another layout...this is based on what I'm thankful for...

"I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance."
~Maya Angelou~

October:

This tall card was probably one of my more labor intensive endeavors...I hand pleated the skirt and sewed each layer...I love the look and the colors...come on, you gotta love the quote!

November:

ahhhhhhh...silhouettes...love them...and I also love to use non-traditional colors...this went to a bloggie friend, Jen, who recently had a baby boy:)

December:

This is probably my most favorite Christmas card...coffee...red/blue...glitter...bling...stitching....sigh...

Thank YOU for all your support in 2010...I truly appreciate it and YOU!

What's your "one little word" for 2011?

Have you picked one?  Are you signed up for Ali's class?  I took the leap...I'm excited to start a project for 2011....it's going to be a GREAT year...I can feel it....I'll be making a fun announcement next week {can't wait!!} but back to the "one little word"...here's mine:

:::savor:::

Definition: delight in, enjoy
