modern cameo and giftie set

Happy Friday!

I have a couple things to share with you today....

First up is a cameo card...

I picked up the Maya Road Mini Chipboard set from Ellen's....

The chippies have been painted with Adirondack Espresso and Lettuce paint dabbers.  I've had them for awhile and finally cracked them open.  I love the 'texture' that the acrylic paint gives the chipboard.  I added the Queen and Co pearls...I used the Hero Arts Music Background with memento rich cocoa ink.

I actually originally envisioned an ATC...but ended up mounting it onto the Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Cardstock....  I love the contrast of the panels.

Next up is a giftie set of mini 3 x 3 cards:

Seriously, Hambly paper just 'sings'...you really don't have to add much to them...

I did alter a tin for the cards...they will be packaged up with some glassine envies.

In the set there are 2 cards with embellies...

I decided to not make all the cards 'bumpy' in case the recipient wants to actually send them out without having to mess with extra postage!

The diecut and sentiments are a combo of 2 different PTI sets...

The stitching is a nice touch on such petite cards...

The set has been made especially for one of my friends.  We will be celebrating her belated birthday festivities soon.  She's a pretty clean & simple girl...so I kept the overall design specific to her.

I love that Cath says  to 'give away' your challenge set... I'm a prolific card maker but it takes me forever to send out or give my projects aways...what's up with that?!  I do have to admit that going to the post office is something I really dread...there is always a line but luckily the peeps at my local post office are super fun.  I welcome Cath's challenge....and thank you Cath:)

Check it out....I had the boy take a pic of me with my phone...I'm standing in front of the Pike Place Market's Gum Wall.  

The kids and I spent the day yesterday like tourists...did a ton of walking in Downtown Seattle.  We brought along one of the kids' friends...tired her out:)  We toured the Olympic Sculpture Park...had lunch at the Spaghetti Factory...walked around the Pike Place Market...I may have had to come back home to take a power nap!

tons 'o stuff...

Oh boy...it's Saturday...the man and I will be busy racing around all weekend...

I have a bunch of goodies I managed to crank out:

Here's a halloween tag and matching treat pail:)  I made this for Darin's daughter...we'll be seeing her at college this weekend..can't go empty handed...

All the paper is Echo Park...the ribbon is from a grab bag of ribbons ala Maya Road...

Next up is a Cosmo Cricket'licious Mitten Weather card...

You seriously can't go wrong with red and pale blue...I think it will become a true classic combo....I've been hoarding those pale blue Heidi Swapp Crystals...glad I did so that I could use them on this card:)  The striped grosgrain is from Stampin' Up.

I was inspired by Kazan's sketch 63:

Next up is this one...

The patterned paper is hambly...the stamped image is Memory Box...the blue of the chair is actually the backside of the patterned paper...the vinyl rub on is Sentiments by E.A.D Designs..everything is nestled onto a Fabriano card...I wanted the base to be kind fancy smancy to really show off the gorgeous hambly paper...

I was wow'ed by the latest Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, Languish in Luxurious:

Absolutely gorgeous...wowza...Cath knows how to pick them!

I've been so thankful to have a Moxie Fab Week...my Making a Scene card was a Tuesday Target and my 'Warm Wishes' card was a winner in the Moxie Fab Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge!  Woot Woot!

Makin' a scene...

Happy Saturday....so glad that it is the weekend although, it'll be a busy one!  I have a couple things to share today...first up is my card...

I really enjoyed making this card...I've been really diggin' making scenery cards....The base is PTI kraft and all the other papers are MME except the blue paper is Crate.  I've been hoarding some Maya Road 'home' rub ons and they were perfect for this card...the chippie tree is Maya too!

There's awholelotta stitching going on too and I did it free form....haha...probably doesn't sounds like a big deal but I was typically hand cranking 'non-straight line stitching'....

I was absolutely inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, A Funky Fall:

Ahhh....dontcha love it...sooo serene and peaceful....I was inspired by:

1.  the colors
2.  the homes
3.  the scenery style

I also used chippie which makes it potentially feasible to enter my card into Kay Sibley's Chippie Challenge...nothing to fancy smancy but I did cover it with paper:)

Here's another organizational update!

Take note on this particular label...you'll want to run out and pick one of these puppies up!  It's something that I bought at Target...

Check it out ladies....Good Grief, THEE perfect Thickers storage...

I feel horrible because I want to give credit to the wonderful blogger that had her thickers similarly stored but her's were in an awesome wicker basket...I even left her a comment that it was genius to store them on their side so that the letters didn't get creases in them etc...Ugh, sorry...my memory is horrendous....please leave me a comment if you see this and its you that is the genius with the thickers storage so that I can give you the credit due...My storage isn't as sweet as a wicker basket but it works!

This is when I should probably add my PSA for Peachy Cheap and Big Lots...that's where a majority of my Thickers are from...I assure you, it pains me to pay regular retail on those puppies...

CPS Card Sketches Facebook Friday Girl!!!

I could NOT believe it when the fabbie Carly Robertson of CPS contacted me, little 'ole me, about being featured for CPS Facebook Friday! I could not have been more thrilled!!!

Here's what I came up with...

For those of you that have been following me for a while know that I simply a-dore Cosmo Cricket...they are one {of many really...} manufacturers that I love to work with...their colors and patterns are always something that I can have fun with! All the patterned paper is from the Material Girl line including the 'elements' label.

OMGoodness...are you just LOVIN' that Maya Road dress form? Yipes, so totally cute and I dressed it up with a necklace:)

The alpha is Cosmo Cricket's tiny type...I used PTI buttons, Want2Scrap pearls and finished it off with a bunch of stitching and a ZVA flourish....

Hey Friend...Honey Pecan...& a woot!

Happy Saturday!

I will be flying into California today to start my CHA festivities...more on that in a smidge.

Let's get started since this is a very heavy pic blog post:)

I finally inked up Courtney's Key to my Heart set and teamed it up with Sarah's bonus sketch over at 2s4y...

I love the Jillibean green, yellow & black combo!

OMGoodness....the images stamp beautifully...The 'hey friend' is on another one of my loopy tabs...sheesh, the tab kind of looks unruly doesn't it? LOL...hmmm....let's not say unruly...let's say playful!

The feltie flower border sticker has been in my stash for a bit...can't tell you who makes it...sorry...

If you haven't picked up your Key to my Heart set...I highly recommend it...I definitely have some other ideas brewing:)

Okay, next up is Kazan's sketch 44....which I teamed up with the Moxie Fab Start to Finish Challenge...whew, one thing led to another on this 'project'...

I should probably say that I made this for my blogging buddy Ivy in California. She is thee sweetest and will be picking me up from the airport and taking us to CHA shopping today!

Have you figured out why I named this card Honey Pecan...LOL...the newsprint is actually a Trader Joe's paper that I picked up around Thanksgiving. Ivy is great at eco projects...she manages to upcycle quite a bit so I knew that I wanted to add something 'green'.

The ZVA started off clear and then I inked them up with brown Copics...

Yup, it's multi-fold...each panel of patterned paper has been stitched...each front panel has at least one Hero Arts image...another love of Ivy's.

Seriously, who can resist that sweet deer? I teamed her up with a Maya Road Chippie tree that I covered with Stampin' Up Designer paper...actually all the paper on this project is from SU. The sentiment is A Muse..

I should use the mushie more often....it's so fun:) Who is that peeking behind the door???

Ahhhh...one of the sweet American Crafts Owls...

This is really the back of the card...I really am a super lazy crafter but after doing the front and interior, the back seemed especially nakey without anything so I just slapped on some stitched panels...

There you have it...one of my most labor intensive cards....all worth it though...Ivy rocks...

Okay, onto my woot:) Remember this owlie card? It made the Cards blog...woot woot!

Holiday Cheer!

TGIF!!!!!

I tell you...the days seem to get shorter and shorter and the weeks are flying by.

We got to work with a couple different images and I picked Cocoa Carol!

You know that really Carol is downing some serious caffeine...chugging the coffee not cocoa...oh that's right...that would be ME...not Carol...LOL. I love the image...she definitely gives me the sense of peace and calmness...I colored her hair, top and coffee mug {wink} with copics...her "yoga pants" are paper pieced...they kind of look blue in the photo but I used Stampin' Up Basic Gray.

I wanted to add texture to the card so I used the fabbie MM flocked paper...gotta love flocked goodness...the music paper is October Afternoon. The A Muse Holiday Cheer sentiment is glitzed up with Martha glitter...love, love, love that stuff!

I tend to do crafty catch up in the morning while the kidlets are still sleeping. It is a wonderful time in my household...quiet....peace & quiet...ahhhh...pros and cons to crafting before work...pros would include quality time...I do tend to get a ton done...cons are a plenty...quite frankly it makes me NOT want to go to work...I hate to step away from a project that I'm working on and the MOJO is flowing....but the realistic side of me knows that if I don't work...I can't afford to craft....there's this other thing too...I tend to be a glitter girl...gotta have a smidge of glitter on everything these days...the kids are always telling me that I have glitter on my face...how in the world does that happen...seriously? It's not like I'm slinging around the glitter in a mad frenzy...good grief....the peeps at my work are probably thinking that I'm dolling myself up for them...yeah, NOT.

I wanted to share another Holiday Trunk Show sneak peek:

I know...can you believe it???!!!!! I did some sewing on felt...felt ladies...

I dolled these tissue holders up with Maya Road Felt & Crochet blooms...along with some MM/PTI buttons...whaddya think??? I invested in some Fiskar pinking shears...I tell you, I'm slowly on my way to some serious Amy Butler sewing projects...that's my goal.

I actually have 2 other colors of felt that I'll be working with too...my projects for this weekend. J's had a sale on their felt...I went there at lunch the other day with my co-worker who is an avid quilter. She saw me in line and casually asked me how many yards I was buying of the felt...1/4 yard each? I looked at her with pure shock...1/4 yard? {it then kicked in that I could buy the stuff in smaller yardage...see, I'm not a seamstress}....I calmly told her No, I bought a yard each...oy, I'm going to be making a ton of tissue holders...LOL...a yard is a ton of felt...I know, I can use the felt for other things like flowers...my friend laughed at me though...

Good Grief, this is a montsa long post...I do want to show off my adorable RAK that I recently received from Elaine. Seriously, how stinkin' cute is this:

Well, I have TONS of 'homework' tonight. That's what I call my DT projects & various other paper projects:) Also, we're hoping to pick up our tree tonight so that we can decorate it over the weekend...not to mention adding more lights to the house...all the interior holiday decorations...time...I need more time.

Hello...and an incredible RAK...

I can't tell you how happy I am that it is a short work week...only 3 days...woot woot!!!

I was able to get a ton of crafty stuff done over the weekend..I try to do most of my week's cards over the weekend...it makes for a less stressful work week.

Today I'm sharing the latest RSCC#19:

The lavender was throwing me...I'm not a lavender kind of gal BUT I'm always up for a challenge:

The chippie tree is Maya Road...I colored the trunk with a copic and covered the other part with SU designer paper...The apples are Fancy Pants buttons {good for the Cards Magazine blog challenge to include at least 5 buttons!}. The cloud paper & hello rub on are American Crafts...Do you see my lavender? Yup, it is the Marvy butterfly!

The hello banner is actually kind of wavy...kwim? I anchored it down by the "h" and by the 2nd "l"...

I wanted to share another RAK that I received last week. I decided to hijack Yvonne's blog...her pic is gorgeous...check out the lovely piece of art she made me....I know, pretty incredible...it is quite the keepsake...please leave her some blog love...it arrived intact all the way from Singapore!!!!

joy jar...and a freebie...

Well, we've been experiencing true Washington weather lately...rainy and windy..blech.

Here's a fun sketch for CPS142.

I haven't played with my Sassafras stash'ola lately so I thought I'd use that on today's card. I picked up all the papers when Sassafras had their "online warehouse sale". I bought the smallest box they were offering and it was seriously crammed full of fun stuff.

I combined the Sassafras goodness with Thickers and a Maya Road delish felt flower...Life is good!!

What a Hoot!

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!

Such a fun sketch by Pam, I decided to go 5x7 {thanks Beth!!}. The patterned papers are by Jenni Bowlin and Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Carolina {I've been hoarding it!}. I made the flower with the SU Papers and it is held together with a bling brad. I used a SU 'For You' rub on on the Maya Road journaling card.

I tell you, today is going to be a short & sweet post...as I'm typing this up on Saturday evening I'm super exhausted. Both of the soccer games were fabulous...The girls didn't win but they did a good job...the boys won, by a ton..and yes, my boy scored a goal...oh yeah!!!! I just finished chatting up a storm with Susan and I need to go to bed...super tired...no nap today :(
