Clearly Moxie

This is a double dog dare....Kazan's sketch 19 @ 2 Sketches 4 You and Cath Edvalson's color challenge on her Moxie Fab World blog. The color challenge is yellow and gray....see that polka dot paper? It is actually from American Crafts Christmas line called Sleigh Bells Ring...the other side is a beautiful bright green...the yellow is Stampin' Up So Saffron along with their Basic Gray. It all sits on a transparency from Flourishes. The color combo really does remind me of Amy Butler...

~LIFE is GOOD~

I was VERY inspired by Shari Carroll's pocket cards on the Hero Arts Blog. I purchased a bunch of transparencies from Flourishes awhile back. With the scoring, I was able to use one full sheet for this card. Guess who the "Happy Place" rainbow dp is from....hmmm...maybe my current fav.....Sassafras Lass! The a-dorable Mushroom House is ala Hero Arts...it's huge! I paper pieced it on Stampin' Up Real Red and Speckletone Kraft. This card just makes me smile!

You take the Cake!

Hope that you all had a FABulous day off yesterday. I certainly did although I was with all of the other procrastinating parents picking up last minute school supplies and clothes!

Here is another inchies card...the cake is ala A Muse and I just love the "You take the Cake" sentiment from Flourishes Cake Decorating set! I colored in the cake plate with my stardust pen to give it a little sparkle. The inchie is on a pop dot...and yes, it is a 4.25" square card :)

Hooray for a short work week!!!

I received a super sweet email the other day from Jan Marie of Flourishes LLC. She noticed that I've been MIA in the Flourishes forum over at Splitcoaststampers. I've already celebrated Leap Day with Flourishes! They are having a sale over at their website...you should check it out. They also recently started to carry hinged clear boxes. They are perfect for storing clear stamps. I have a bunch of A Muse, Memory Box and Rubber Soul clear stamps that need a home and these clear boxes will be perfect!

On Feb 27 & Feb 28, one of the radio stations that I listen to, 106.1 KISS FM, ran a 28 hour radio-a-thon to benefit Children's Hospital. This is the first year that I've donated, I was so moved by all of the stories they aired {translation: I was sobbing}....it made me so thankful that I have 2 healthy kids. I can not begin to imagine what some families must go through when their children become ill. We were listening to radio-a-thon last night and both the kids told me that they wanted to donate $20/each....so I called in their pledge. Isn't that the greatest?

Here's to a huge shout out to my FABulous kids, they rock my world.

I tell you, it is like MY birthday. I've been uploading cards using the Flourishes Cake Decorating 101 set onto Splitcoaststampers. They have been celebrating all month long! I actually won a prize! Scarlet Cake

Another Cake Decorating Card! This time I used my Basic Grey Scarlet Letter 6x6 DP Pad. The size of the patterns are perfect for paper piecing. I've had the wired wide black & white gingham for years and have recently had a lot of fun using it. I've always been in awe of the multi-layered cards in the Splitcoaststampers gallery....clean and simple is more my style but I do have fun doing the layered cards.

Happy Place

Breaking out the Basic Grey and my Flourishes Cake Decorating 101 set! I was inspired by Clownmom's Flourished Bird Bath. The Memory Box Early bird is perched on the edge of the bird bath, taking a rest.

I'll probably end up "tweeking" this, I tried putting crystal effects onto the "bird bath" but it just didn't look right.

This is a mondo card...I wanted to try out this size after reading about the envies that SU carries that are 8.75 x 5.75. That will be part of my
Sale-A-Bration order :)

Venetian Lamp

I'm on a roll creating cards for the Flourishes Cake Decorating Contest. My inspiration for this card comes from the incredibly talented Sharon L. Johnson aka notimetostamp...I'm always in awe of her fabulous works of art!

Why did I name the card "Venetian Lamp"? The shade is paper pieced using The Venetian Mat Stack..great textured, heavy cardstock that I received as a birthday gift last year {thanks M!}.

Big Slice of Happiness

Another entry into the Flourishes Cake Decorating Contest! Can you see all the glitter on the chocolate frosting? I wanted to add some dimension to the card so I added the very sweet prima flower and bling! The "You Take the Cake" text is stamped on the inside of the card.

I love the Cake Decorating 101 set! I'm overwhelmed with all the fabulous inspiration in both the Splitcoaststampers Gallery and the Flourishes Gallery. I've been on quite the bling kick and feel the need to add some sparkle to everything...this card is no exception.

You Take the Cake ala A Muse

As I look as this card, I'm thinking that I may revise it {see below}. It will actually be the second time...I originally designed the card without the Making Memories Cosmo paisley paper, I added that after the card was initially put together. The pendant flag shaped tag is inspired by Julie Ebersole {JulieHRR - Splitcoaststampers} via her most fabulous blog, Paper Trufflez. I will probably color in the cake and glitterize it....but here it is:
