Knight Kyron's 24 (25) months check up

Knight Kyron went to dr for his 24 months check up (he's 25 months old).
He weighed 28 lbs and 12oz.
His heights - 36 1/2 inches tall
Dr checked all his developmental milestones. He noticed his spoken language delay (he should be able to speak 2-3 sentences. He said it is very common for Children of Deaf Adults (CODA). He signs ASL (American Sign Language). There is nothing to be alarm about it. It is very common! I rather to have Kyron to signs first for his intellegence and be able to communication with us. Kyron can speak some words but not into sentences - maybe 1 sentence.
He will go child care this fall with other hearing kids and teachers while we go work. He will pick up from there. This week, I will take Kyron to visit that child care center. Mikaela went there for a year and few months. She loved it there. They have a wonderful curriculum/program for young children. Hollie and I agreed to put Kyron in and pray that he will like it as much as Mikaela. :o)

Trip to ER again...

Yesterday, we had to take Kyron to ER! Urgh! He couldn't keep anything down - all he do is vomiting all day long. Everytime he drinks - it comes out! I had changed my clothes 5 times! I told H that I must cancel the class today. She said she will take care of K and let me go to teaching class. I told her that I think we are taking him to ER! He is dehydrated! Hollie came home early from work. I called doctor and of course he sent us to ER!

Hello ER again! Here Kyron needs your treatment! Doctor gave him a strong medicine to help him to stop vomiting - zophren. We had to stay there for almost an hour to make sure he doesn't throw up again. We stayed there from 2:30pm to 8:30pm!

Kyron was so sleepy and he wasn't active at all- all morning and afternoon. All he wants to laydown on the floor or couch (anywhere even on bathroom floor). Threw up everywhere! Now I have to call carpet shampooing to come!

Around 8pm, he started to complained that he wants FOOD! Thats when I knew he's ok! He started to be silly boy. I was worried that it might be a side effect from the medication. I asked doctor through interpreter. He replied - no it was not from side effect to make him silly... He's back to old himself again... YES!!! but he couldn't have any food til tomorrow which is today - based on BRAT! haha Who would follow doctor's order? haha...

Now he is active boy again with low grade fever which is ok by me!

Ouch, Poor my K

Yesterday, I was working (on call dorm assist. for HS girls dorm).


H: Get on VP now! (videophone)


H: Emergency


H: K bleeding bad


(T was busy writing pass for a student to go tutor center - finally checked my aim)


T: Calling you now


T: It is RINGING!


H: MEET me HOSPITAL


T: What?? WHERE?


H: Kyron bleeding (show me k)


T: OK OK - MEET you there at AAMC!





(I ran to other staffs to inform them that I need to go...) I actually ran to the car parking lot - its a long run! AS soon as i arrived the car - I need an oxygen tank to breathe. Oh boy... I don't drive fast. (K-sh sh). I had to speed a little.





During that time, H and I kept touch through emails from our pager. She was telling me that K was looking out the window and saying mommy mommy. Poor my boy.. I had to rush a little!





Finally, I arrived - K was reached out to me. My boy! Oh no! What happened? His mouth was so SWOLLEN! I looked inside - Ouch - laceration! Ya know the waiting room - always take forever! K kept on holding on me - refused to let me go.





After a while, nurse finally called us! He was seen doctor. K hate it! He was sleeping and had to wake him up. That p*ssed him more. Doctor said - Good news! Laceration is closing itself and doesnt need stitches.





Went home. K was slept all the way so M too.





Now he looks so different! His face! not normal! so swollen lip. As for this moment, he is playing with his trains.











Whew... I'm glad he is ok. I know it will not his first or last! Waaahhh WWWaaaaahhh

Need to go DR office. Because K's laceration is NOT closed and dr wanted to check it looks deep - 1 cm deep. K had been touching a lot and saying hurt. (I'm pretty sure its not hurt - just uncomfortable but rather to have him check) URGH!!!! K has a dr appt tmr. I'm about to lost my mind! So many things to do at one time!

Flu Shot appointment lead to other...

Flu Shot scheduled ended up getting the appointment turned the table around!!!

Today, our kids were scheduled to have flu shot. First of all, Mikaela turned 5 and need to have "5" years old check up. Dr. D checked Mikaela and Everything looks good! Dr. D looked at Kyron and looked puzzled. She asked me - how long did Kyron have cold? I said - since Friday. She asked - any fever? I said once - Saturday night (Sunday early early morning). She said ok... then took her stethoscope on him. She stood up and said - I'm going to get nebulizer for him. (In my mind - WHAT??? WHAT is she saying?? Nebulizer - a breathing treatment for my BOY! - F**K! Something is not right!!) Nurse came and said - he will be needing breathing treatment immediately as he is dealing with severe wheezing. (Of course as a mother - would say yes - sure anything to make my boy feel better - I was worried!) He ended up having to take breathing treatment. He wasn’t happy at all but cooperated. After 10 minutes later, Dr. D came and checked on him and said – I’m not satisfied and he will need one more breathing treatment. He is still wheezing. (In my mind – you gotta be kidding!!) . He took it again! He cooperated – bless his heart! Finally Dr. D checked and said – much better! Finally we can go home! We were suppose to be there for Kyron to get a flu shot but ended up with breathing treatments.
Dr D wrote a note to me saying – NO FLU SHOT TODAY for Kyron – just Mikaela and she will need varivax (sp?) also. Kyron will have to continue aubuterol medicine by taking breathing treatment for every 3 hours today and tomorrow – every 4 hours as well will need to take pulmicort in the afternoon (one time a day) then every 6 hours on Wednesday. Plus antibodic ( I forgot what it is. as Hollie took Rx to get medicine).

The whole scene sure brought my memories BACK! When Mikaela was only 13 weeks old, she was taken to hospital for severe wheezing. She had ongoing breathing treatment (on and off - depends on 'her attack' or ‘when she was wheezing') until around 3 1/2 years old. I remembered I had to hold the mask to cover Mikaela's mouth and nose for 10 - 15 minutes... for every 3 hours, then 4 hours then at last every 6 hours (depending on condition). I was praying so hard that it’s just one time thing for Kyron. In the past, when I hold the mask on Mikaela - my mind was racing - is that medicine safe for my kid? Will that medicine shut her growth especially with some of steroids medicine and pulmicort. (not all the time) - often aubuterol. All those crazy things come to my mind. AND it happened again with Kyron today. I asked Dr. She said- it doesn’t do much harm but HELP him to breathe better. I have to research more on it.

Poor Mikaela, she had been so good – patience with me and Kyron. I asked – her – what would she like to have for dessert? She picked brownies so I paged Hollie to get brownies for dessert and other things for dinner. Kids and I ended up staying in the doctor office for over 2 hours! Dr. asked me an interesting question – If it wasn’t for Flu Shot appointment – Will I bring him to dr? I simply said – no. He was active; his appetite was good and all that. Just cold and congested.. Dr agreed and said I’m glad that he’s here! He must have that treatment now! I said – if not then what? Dr said it could be fine or for worse. I want him to be VERY fine than go for worse. Kyron didn’t have his flu shot and I’m happy that he has been treated for his severe wheezing. That’s suck being deaf! I can’t hear his wheezing. Dr. D, she also asked me question – how does he sleeps? Not so good for few nights now. She smiled! (WTF…she smiled!) I had to ask! Why? She said – Kyron wasn’t sleeping well because he has stuffy in his nose and “lungs”. In my mind – could it lead to SIDS? Then Dr. D said – it could lead to SIDS as he couldn’t breathe well. Now I probably will never go sleep! The good news is that he kept me wake most of night when he couldn’t “feel” comfortable with himself.

That is scary moment but I know he’s going to be fine. But I'm glad that it had happened today.

His TOY! -Updated!!

Kyron's new sneakers! He wouldn't let anyone take his shoes off. H did test on him by taking his shoes off. Oh boy... He was so P;ssed! He threw a fit and signed - SHOES SHOES train SHOES Train SHOES Train Train! Til he get his shoes back on again! Whoa!!! He will take his shoes off before he goes bed and put it on as soon as he wake up. (not easy task!)



I asked him, What do you love the most? He showed that! Not surprising!! His favorite toy of this month. We were wondering how long will it lasts?

UPDATED:::::

Kyron refused to take his shoes off for bed. I tried to take his shoes off. He cried - Shoes-Shoes -Train-Train! We had to let him sleep with his sneakers on! Urgh... At about 2:30am, I took his shoes off. He just slept through it. Whew! Mission completed!

thomas the train and costume

After dinner, I told h - that I'm in mood to walk around. Mikaela suggested us to go Toys R Us. Of course - kids love that store! We all went in and we agreed we will just look and walked around. Mikaela found a halloween costume that she wanted. Checked the price (Dang - its much cheaper than on line that I almost order today - whew - save 18.00!!!) Went ahead and get it.
During that time, Kyron was so happy and his eyes were so WIDE!!! Pointing at one special costume that he couldn't resist or get out of his sight. It was Thomas the Train. He LOVES it very much. H and I thought it was so cute and not bulky as we saw some kids with bulky train out front of belly last year. That one - flat and so cute.. So we went ahead and get those for Kyron. He couldn't let it go! He always stare all thomas the train sets (shelves filled with thomas the train). We realized that he doesnt have one train at home. WE looked for a good reasonable price. Finally we found one and He is very happy with it! (Gosh - Why the price so expensive!! that item is so small! - urgh...) Of course, Mikaela said - where is mine? I want a new toy since Kyron is getting a train. So We went to the "girly" area... Mikaela saw a horseland horses. She got it. Finally we got out and told H that is not walking around!! LOL...

Will post when kids wearing the costume in Oct. Can't WAIT!!! We just put them on today. My gosh... Kids are growing up! Mikaela is going to be Drama Queen Pirate! Kyron - of course thomas the train - so cute!!!! He wouldn't take it off - BIG MISTAKE!!!! He threw fit! a BAD ONE! I ran and get his shirt that has thomas the train on it.. He is happy boy again! Whew...

Kyron was sleeping with Thomas the Train. I took it away from him, HE WOKE up and said NOOO!! 0k - my master!! :o)

At least he sleep soundly so everyone is...

orientation day - mikaela - preschool

Mikaela was so happy - she will go back to school :o) This picture was taken few minutes before we took off to visit her "school"

We went to Mikaela's school for orientation day. It went pretty well... They explained what to expect for this year. Wow... my baby - now is a big girl. They expect a lot! I had several questions to ask and they answered them all! I told them you both (two teachers) will see more often with a lot of questions. They smiled and said, "we know."

I told Mikaela - you're big girl now! She said, "Yes and I'm going to be 5 in few weeks." I said - in few months! Urgh.. *wiped my tears*

We came home and found Kyron was sleeping on the floor - cute - he does not sleep on the floor! I think its because the babysitter had a son J on her. She tried to tell Kyron to lay down with her and her son J. Kyron kept telling her - no. He fell asleep.

He must dreaming about BIG TRUCKS! He loves that book!

NY Trip

Mikaela said - oh no... Turkey - had ran away from the farm. I explained her that turkey is WILD and live in WOOD. She said - no. Turkey lives in the farm. I explained to her that some turkey do lives in the farm or zoo and do live in wood like bear.

NO more curls. Kyron's aunt Tammy cut his hair.

(my mom will send me pictures when it developed - before, during and after hair cut.)

Now he's a big boy. Breaking my heart and same time proud of him for being a big boy.

As soon as we arrived home, we decided videophone Hollie. She saw Kyron's hair. She CRIED! and said ... he's a big boy... I miss his curls.

We don't know if he will have curls back. We will know when it grows.

First Trip to ER

As most of you already know that Kyron's fever was still up 103/104 since Monday evening.
Yesterday, He didn't want to eat or drink at all and good enough NO wet diapers!! Our doctor called us late afternoon to check on how Kyron doing. He sent us to ER! Oh great!

Kyron didn't act like he was sick but looked miserable more than ever. The best part was that he was a very good trooper who took it well.

Our friends took Mikaela with them so that she can play with A & J instead of going with us. Thanks friends!

ON way to ER...




We took Kyron to his first ER. He was calm until we enter the emergency room. He sensed something and cried. Poor my baby! But few minutes after, he calmed.

Temperature 103.
Weighs 25.5 lbs.



Took x-ray because he coughed differently (dont ask me what difference). His lung showed clear! (He doesn't cough til yesterday)


Took bloodwork (the worst part - poor my baby! but he was a really good trooper!)


Put bag around his genital area and waiting for urine to come.


Put him on IV as he doesnt drink or eat much. (he did good...he cried a little...).





FINALLLLLY-his fever went down!!!!


He can not be discharge from ER just because he hasn't pee yet.


After about 20 minutes, he PEED! Yaaa!!! Everything looks good with bloodworks and urine result.


He just had virus (We knew it - but still need IV as he was dehydrated).


Went home and picked Mikaela up around 10:30pm. Mikaela was thrilled to see Kyron! She was worried about him. She checked his temperature with her hand and said it is not hot as desert now.

As for now, Kyron is sleeping - 9:45am! No fever. He is def. exhausted!

Seem Emergency room scared the virus away!

STILL 103!!!

Took Kyron to dr today. He still has fever! 103.5 Go away fever go away! Come back... never!

Kyron still is in a good heart spirited boy. He doesn't fuss or cry. Just clingy. He played with his toys - just less running around the house. My precious.

Doctor tested him... He has viral infection. Warned me that Kyron might get rash break out sometime tomorrow or friday (nothing to be alarm about) maybe not... I'm hoping not.

Give him morton then Tylenol then morton then Tylenol ... every 3 hours til his fever goes down. He could've gone to hosptial to get IV but he eats and drink very well! (Whew!)

I'm glad it went well. I just want him to be back old self again!

Updated: My boy is...

Updated: Kyron is sick! He arrived dr office with temp of 103. Dr checked on him - ear, throat, nose etc... nothing... He decided to have bloodwork and urine test. Bloodwork showed that he has high white blood cells. Urine test showed that he had small amount of blood in his urine. I don't see it - weird. They wouldn't let us go til Kyron drop his temperature. Finally he dropped his temperature. Dr demanded to see him tomorrow afternoon to have bloodwork and urine test too...

Hope nothing serious! I'm worried now... I've been researching through internet. Urgh...

Kyron is in a good spirit! He doesn't cry much. He just quiet. Normally, he run around but not today. Hope he will run around tomorrow.

What a week! Cleaning, Packing, Shopping, Paying Bills, etc.....

Tomorrow is the day! Yes!!! Couldn't wait! We have ben counting days and now its TOMORROW! We will be leaving in the morning as its 4 hours to drive.

Doctor Visit

More than 14 days ago, K got a tick! We removed it. We were aware a little red dot. Until few days ago, we noticed a spot that was "bitten" by a tick. We were worried about Lyme Disease. We called doctor. Doctor wanted to come in to check on K.

Good News, It wasn't lyme disease or anything serious. It is healing spot. He did checked on him with everything to make sure - from head to toe, heart, ear, nose and mouth. He passed all - whew!
