hearing issues??

I would like to mention something... first of all, couple weeks ago, Kyron was sitting in the back of van. Out of blue, he was cried so hard. I couldn't pullover because it was BAD TRAFFIC - bump to bump. He said he couldn't hear. I was like huh... He cried so hard. I told him calm down... I turned volume up, he still couldn't hear. I turned down and up back n forth. He still couldn't hear. In my mind - oh sh-t!! Sudden hearing loss came to my mind... He finally calmed down as I told him the music is off ( it wasn't). About 5-10 minutes (feel like it lasts like an hour). He jumped out with joy and said I CAN HEAR!! I CAN HEAR!!! It sure freaked me out. I was thrilled that he can hear. I was so scared that he might lose his hearing.

Yesterday, a friend's sister S who is CODA (children of deaf adults), she asked H if Mikaela is hard of hearing. H said, no she is not hard of hearing but we do suspect that she might have some hearing loss. She passed all hearing tests so far. S said - Mikaela is hard of hearing! She talks different, she is having difficult time hearing some sounds and her use of languages.

Now, we have to schedule both kids to have hearing test etc... We will use Galladuet audiology dept. this time...

I need to schedule speech evaluation for Kyron as he couldn't say much words - hopefully to get some services for him.

I had second mapping last week. Wow.. it was totally different than first mapping. It was a little bit loud or was it a high frequency. We talked to have digital hearing aid on my other ear. It should be ready by either Sept or Oct. Audiogolist wanted me to focus on one ear for 5 months to get use to the CI. Yesterday is the first day that I have not worn. Been in water most of the day...

Now we are counting days to go Atlantis, Bahamas - 6 more days!!! yay....
