What do those words mean to you?

I consider myself a homebody...not because I'm not a social personality but I like to just relax since during the work week things are so busy.

I have a little altered project for you...the cork base is actually a coaster.

For those of you that have been following me for awhile....you know that I didn't really play with lavenders/purples until last November when I did my "self-challenge"...

Well, since then I have dabbled more into that color family and certainly love it teamed up with green....that's where the Lily Bee Picket Fence line comes into play.  Did you know that it was designed by Julia Stainton?  I'm a HUGE fan of her work...

I couldn't help but pick up the Lily Bee Picket Fence 6x6'er at Ellen's!  All the paper is from the Picket Fence line...I used my Stampin' Up Butterfly die...love that thing!  Can you see the Kaisercraft pearls along the roof line?  The alpha is Making Memories, the button is Foof-a-la!  You know I had to add a smidge of stitching...zig zagging:)

The wonderfully talented Valerie of paper & cookies passed along the Stylish blogger Award to me!  Valerie has such a style about her that I absolutely a-dore....classic elegance with POW....Here's the rules - I have to tell you 8 random things about me then pass it on to 8 of my fav bloggers. 

Here goes:

1.  These have been my fav shoes lately....I have the kids version:)  Black patent...love the stuff...comfy and it gives me almost an extra 2 inches of height:)

2.  My colloquialisms....both written {obviously} and speech.  I definitely have my Amy lingo...

3.  Barefootism...I typically walk around the house barefoot...gotta love a good pedi...lately I've been diggin' blue toes:)

4.  Next to blogging/blurfing...I could spend hours on Pinterest.

5.  Growing up I wasn't a huge fan of veggies...as an adult I've discovered my love of beets!

6.  I'm the youngest of 3...I have 2 older brothers...being the youngest and the only girl is fabulous...at times I regret not having a sister but that's what you all are to me:)

7.  I'm a huge fan of inspirational quotes...love them...can't get enough of them.  I've been a supporter of things happen for a reason, you might not realize that when you're going through it...people come and go in your life for a reason...take the good out of the bad...

8.  This has been my drink of choice lately...other than good old fashion water...

Whew...that was actually difficult because I tried really hard to not list any crafty oriented tidbits.  Here's another difficult part...picking peeps....I'm sooo very thankful that I have a ton of bloggie friends...and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings...that makes it super hard to pick because I think that you are all Stylish!  So here you go:

Happy Mail...I just LOVE Happy Mail!!!!  I wanted to share with you all the fabulous cards I have received along with some awards too!

Okay, who doesn't know Lauren?  She is thee opposite of CAS...she is the QUEEN of details, details, details....when she posted this particular card...I gasped out loud...the stitching and all the wonderful embellies....good grief woman, where do you get your cardstock...it's like 200 lb goodness...AND the whipper snapper even sent me some lovely goodies too!!!

Savitri...gotta love her style....and her humor...that woman is always cracking me up...

Sherry...Sherry is such a fab bloggie friend...have you noticed my use of wrinkle ribbon...it's from Sherry...she inspired me to use my CB Folders the other day...we chat everyday...such a great friend...Thanks Sherry!

Last but certainly not least....a sweet card from Vera...right now Vera is enjoying her time with her family in Singapore...I'm so happy for her that she was able to go back home for the holiday's!

I may have shared some of these cards earlier...my memory has been especially sad these days...a good friend thanked me for the 2 Christmas Cards that I sent her...I sent her 2 cards and didn't even know it....shaking my head...

Okay, here are some awards that I've been honored with!

Lisa of Lisa's Scrap 'N Shack and Li-bee-ti of Creations with Love both shared their awards with me!  I think I'm suppose to share some fun facts so I'll make them all crafty ones:

1.  I stitch on a majority of my cards...if I don't, I feel like they aren't finished...

2.  Every year I say that I'm going to be more prepared for the holidays...I failed miserably again this year...need to start my cards a whole lot sooner {like in January} and we won't even speak about my December Daily...so far there are only 3 days in December..haha

3.  I absolutely LOVE being creative...cannot and will not experience my life without it:)

4.  The number of wonderful people that I have 'met' through blogging has been incredible...I'm soooooo thankful for my blogging community!

5.  Blogging/Blurfing has become my part time job to my full time job....crazy fun.

Okay, now I'm suppose to share the awards to other people...that's ALWAYS the tough part for me....soooooo to make it less stressful for me :)  I've decided to pass along the awards to all the peeps that sent me a CRAK that I've uploaded on this particular post...muwahahaha...play along if you'd like...no stress:)

cozy quilt...

Happy Thursday!

The week has certainly flown by....I was thrilled to literally rip open my Jacksonbelle package that I received...yup, the NEW October Afternoon pads!

For those that have been following me for a smidge, you know how much I ADORE red & blue...so I definitely gravitated to these 2 patterns out of the Thrift Shop stack.

This card was made especially for a co-worker...she has been trying to get me to jump into quilting...can you imagine me picking up another hobby...another expensive hobby??! Perhaps I'll do that when/if I retire:) Anywho's, my friend is leaving..she was offered a job at, well, a large well-known techie company....bittersweet for me since I'm thrilled for her but I'm going to miss her...I just hope I don't cry on her last day...I'm like that...I'm typically a blubbering mess at movies...good grief, you should see me when I watch 'P.S. I Love You'..sensitive, that's what I call myself...it's not like I'm always sobbing but I'm going to miss her...okay, okay....back to the card...she loves monograms and was recently inquiring about bottlecaps so I 'had' to add that to the card...bonus points for de-hoarding too:)

I wanted to share a fun award that I received...I'm actually behind on another one that I'll post this weekend...Awards are so much fun. It's really neat to be recognized by another crafter:) I actually have a heck of a time picking peeps for these things...oy...EVERY crafter that I KNOW is talented...

A Lani-scape and some awards!

Happy, happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to show you a wintery card today, I'm sooo not ready to make Christmas cards yet but at least I'm in the winter season...

This is winter Lani from The Digi Shack, isn't she just lovely?? Toni asked us to make a 'Lani' scape...a Lani image in a scene. So, I made a snowbunny Lani. lol She's colored with copics/prismas and glamed up with glitter and dazzling diamonds! Too Fun!
The snowbanks were cut using the creative memories cutting system, distressed and sponged with bashful blue. The snowflakes are white craft embossed! I wasn't sure what occasion I'll use it for yet, so no sentiment!!!

The sketch from Stamps and Smiles was perfect for my scene as was the theme at My Time to Craft~polka dot party! Of course my party is a snow party! hehe The La-La Weekly Wednesday challenge was to add distressing and the Wednesday Stampers have an open theme this week, so everyone can play along with that one!!

Hmmm...I think that I met Katie through a challenge blog....I was actually just trying to remember that last week when we chatted via email...my memory really is horrendous and it keeps getting worse the older I get! Anywho's, you have just got to hop over to Katie's blog...she is super talented!! Here's the thing, she is one of those multi-talented peeps that uses both sides of her brain...by day she is a techie for a pharmaceutical company...oh yeah and check out her crafty space...oy vey.

This is a photo of my dining room...it should be one of my favorite rooms in my home because quite frankly, it stays the cleanest! LOL! I {heart} my photo wall....I've always had the kids' pictures taken every year to celebrate their birthdays. The dining room table was given to me by my Father after he passed away. I kept it with its original upholstery for years {it was nasty avocado green tattered velvet but it was soooo my Dad, kwim?!}. A couple years ago I took the seat panels to a Seattle shop called Murphy's to have them reupholstered in the Liz Claiborne fabric that I picked up at J's....it is various shades of orange peonies....Anywho's....Murphy's did a spectacular job!!

xo & my boy....

This card is based on Rae's bonus sketch over at 2 sketches 4 you! The little card is 4.25 x 4.25. All that Sassafras'alicious Robotics paper is nestled on Stampin' Up Basic Grey. The "xo" is Making Memories and the heart shaped bling is A Muse. I'm all for non-traditional cards...this certainly would fall into the non-traditional Valentines Day greetings.
Yesterday was a great day. Just a little "Woot Woot" for my sweet boy! He was recognized at his middle school with a "Striving for Accuracy" award. Isn't he just a-dorable {okay I'm being a little biased...}. It was a surprise to him and the other award recipiants, it was fun to see his confused look on his face when he saw me sitting in the gymnasium in his school.

One World~One Heart and a trio of blog awards!

Thanks to Ann over at Creative Antics, I found out about this wonderful event that will start tomorrow! Check out this blog post on Lisa's site, hostess of the event. The Reader's Digest version? It's a wonderful way to make connections with people all around the world...the blogging community is filled with fabulous people...I can say that I've truly experienced that in my personal blogging journey. I would have never met the people that I have so far if it wasn't for this incredible concept of blogging. Just recently a couple of my blogging friends offered to step up and help me find a chandelier stamp for me...isn't that fabulous {these gals know ME}! We have never met in person but you know what? That's just how it is...

Quite frankly, this couldn't have come at a better time...I actually have some blog candy put together....One prize is true blog candy...meaning I actually bought the goods specifically for blog candy and then I'll have a couple other treasure chests of lovelies...okay, I'm going through a massive design studio purge {design studio...makes it all sound so fancy smancy}. oops! I almost forgot to post my 10 things...I seem to have an addictive personality so I thought I'd focus on that and then add some random things {not in any specific order}:

1. blogging...I'm obessive about my blog...posting...reviewing....the photography...I try to make it make it the best that I can...

2. blurfing...oh my goodness...my blurfing is slightly out of control...I'll admit to that...I cringe to think how many blog posts will be waiting for me when I go on vaca and not have internet access for several days...lol. I'm constantly adding to my google reader...why? Hmm...someone leaves me a comment that I haven't "met" yet...I check out their blog and pretty soon I'm surfing their blog on a regular basis...this one world thing is going to put my google reader into subscription overload..lol. There are all those blogs that I read about on other blogs...it truly is a vicious...fabulous circle...I love it.

3. My Design Studio...obessive...only in some areas...my Stampin' Up paper, Stamps & Markers are really organized {alphabetically}. My A Muse collection is all displayed in front of my work surface...all my um's are together {not in any organized manner but at least together}...everything else? Absolutely Chaos! 2009 is my year to do some serious organization..it will undoubtedly be a year long process...not only because I have so many "treasures" but the financial aspect of the organization...little by little.

yipes...sorry this is a mondo long post....

4. I LOVE my kids...I wouldn't know what I would do without them...there was a time when they were what got me out of bed...put on a happy face...

5. My life, how it is now is not what I ever would have thought it would be...it's funny how life changes when you least expect it..but I love my life and I feel that things happen for a reason...

6. I love my coffee...

7. I love anything citrus...lemon tart...my fav

8. I'm addicted to gum..

9. I use to chew my finger nails when I was younger...

10. I have to make time to be creative or I get grumpy :)

This Fabulous award is from one of my oldest blogging friend's.....Carla over at Paper Pastorale! I will insert here that I don't mean old as in age but she tapped into my blog earlier on in my blogging adventures...Carla is fabulous...she loves glitter and she gives me so much inspiration...both with her blog and her emails to me...I do appreciate you Carla!!!!

Blog Award & Candy!

Elaine over at A Place for Ink gave me this "Fabulous" Award...if you haven't noticed...FABulous is one of my favorite words...lol. Check out Elaine's blog...she's a whipper snapper that I've had the pleasure of meeting and she shares my obsession with A Muse, SU, ribbon and well, shopping! I'm suppose to list 5 obsessions & then pass this along to 5 Fabulous blogs, these are not in any specific order:

1. blogging...I'm really obsessive about my blog...posting at least 5 days a week..it has definitely become a part of my routine.

2. blurfing...I 'want' to keep up with my Google Reader and all the hundreds of blogs that I have jam packed into it. I get sooo much inspiration from all the various eye candy....note that I used the word 'want' vs 'need'. My non-blogging friends just don't get it...

3. Paper arts...I thrive on being creative...it is therapeutic and rewarding for me.

4. coffee...it is a must to keep up with my blogging, blurfing and creativity..lol

5. balance...it is actually a big word...balance with my creativity...work...family...friends...life...really it is a massive juggling act that I strive to keep up with...it isn't a bad thing...I am quite happy with my life...

Wooo hoooo...my first JustRite set compliments of Julie over at Stamps and Taxes! and all of that ribbon...love, love, love ribbon....ask my kids and they will roll their eyes..

I'm a huge fan of monograms...don't know how I've been able to resist the JustRite sets...but I believe Julie has started some enabling...lol.
