No wonder Carly wasn't sleeping! Her ears hurt! She started holding her ears on the way to the birthday party Saturday morning. We suspected something painful was going on after she woke up sobbing Friday night multiple times again. Fortunately, we were able to get her the last doctors appointment of the day at their Saturday location. We basically said "Hi and Bye" to our friends at the birthday party which was a total bummer, but we barely made it to our appointment by the skin of our teeth. (Tina's expression.)Carly is already doing better only 24 hours later.
We still had an eventful weekend. Friday after school I brought her with me to our Celebration of Surviving the First Week at school get together. It was fun because another teacher has a son who is just three months older than Carly and they got to play together. Carly was completely smitten by him. It was so cute to watch them interact.
Today we went for a walk on the boardwalk. It was a beautiful beach day. Then we put Carly down for a nap and I took my car in for the VIP wash. It smelled like there was a dead body in my car. After coming out empty handed when searching all through my car for dirty diapers or old rotten snacks we realized that the smell must be coming from the seats. I recall picking up a bottle that had been leaking all over them. Not cool. I hope the upholstery deep clean did the trick. We're going to have to get some sort of seat cover or something so that doesn't happen again.
SPOKE TOO SOON! Carly just woke up for about an hour...holding her ear and crying. Poor THING. We didn't want to overdose her with IBProfin, so we gave her a little extra Tylenol. The hot compress made it worst. I wish there was more we could do for her.
