He scared me to death!!!

He is oké, but I just have to tell you what happened today!!

When we go on a vacation we always bring Sjors to a dog kennel, he is going there since he is 2 and he always has a great time playing with the other dogs and he loves the people that work there!!! As you might know Bulldogs are having a very hard time breathing when it is hot!! We keep Sjors in a good shape so we never had any real trouble with that!! But today after Peet picked him up from the kennel, he (Sjors) was totally stessed out it is a 15 min drive and he was breathing so heavy that his throath got swollen and his tongue turned blue!! We tried to cool him down with the hose but it didn't work.

So we called the vet and he told us to come immediately!!

When we got there Sjors bodytemp was 102 and his heart was beating way to fast, the vet threw a bucket cold water with methylated spirit over him and gave him and injection to protect his heart waited for 5 min and threw another bucket over him to cool him down!!! We had to stay for a while to see what happened and he got a little better so we got to take him home and cool him down some more and we had to let him drink, but he had to do it himself cause otherwise he could choke. The vet gave us his cellphonenumber in case he got worse again!!

We where so worried but when we got home we cooled him again and he started to drink and fell a sleep for half an hour when he woke up he was all right and wanted to eat!!!

We are so happy he is better again, cause the scarry thing is if we where 15 min later at the vet he would have died.
