Birthday Card Organizer...

I am one of those people who always has the best intentions of remembering everyone's birthdays, but I struggle with keeping all the dates organized, and getting cards out to people on time.

I always thought it would be helpful to have one of those card organizer thingies that you can get at Hallmark; but then I thought it would be even more fun to make my own. Well, I finally got it done. I love the combination of papers in my latest Studio Calico kit - "Granny's Cupboard," so I used them, along with some $1.00 houndstooth file folder sets from Michaels, to make my project.

For the covers I used some 7 Gypsies paper, along with the Dear Lizzy adhesive fabric paper for the spine...

I kept the design of the pocket pages simple. I didn't want to add a lot of embellishments, because with all the use this will get, I could just see them falling off, or making it difficult to slide the book onto a bookshelf...

I cut the file folders to 8 x 9 to make the best use of my 12 x 12 paper. That way I had a 4 inch strip left of each sheet to make a pocket with...

I wrote the months with black poster paint sharpies, and outlined with white...

Attached the pockets with the Pink Paislee Artisan tape that came with the kit...

Used turquoise and black duct tape to bind all the pages together...

and added two pockets at the back - one to put the list of people's birthdays, and one to put a supply of stamps...

and Wah Lah! All done!

Now my plan is to get my list made, and then make sure I have the appropriate cards ready at least a month in advance, so I can get them in the mail on time - yeayyyy!!!!

Have a fabulous Tuesday my friends! See you tomorrow!
