I heart my family !

Last night after everyone was asleep (except Cam, because he's never asleep) I went downstairs to coax my wife with my nicest ever voice to come upstairs and go to bed.   She of course resisted because the Jazz were playing.    I then pulled out my biggest and saddest eyes...still nothing...which then left me NO choice but to beg and plead like a school girl for a puppy.    Her answer hadn't changed.   It's been 12 years people.  Even 8 years ago,  I could have had her in bed with a back massage and spooning with just the sad eyes alone.
I stomped off and over Cam...who had followed me down and was laying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs in the dark.
I took him back to bed and laid down by him.   He smelled sweet, like graham crackers.   Which was slightly odd because he had eaten fish, potatoes, yogurt and apples for dinner.   if you want to get all technical about it FINE ! he ate fish sticks, tater tots, applesauce and a gogurt.   fuck.
Any ways.  Cam started telling me how he was scared of the snakes and lizards and crocodiles.   I reminded him that our doors were locked and they couldn't open them.  And reassured him that snakes, lizards and crocodiles only like to be where it's wet and swampy.    He laid there contemplating for only a few seconds...said, "oh" and rolled over and went to sleep.  SHIT.  is it that easy.   I need to do that every night.  Tonight I just told him that I'd put him outside with the snakes if he got out of bed again.  :) ha ha  JUST kidding.

The house was quiet.   I loved everyone in it.    I mean I LUH-UVED EVERY SINGLE PERSON in my house.   They are such great human beings.   They really are.   Each and everyone of them has their own uniqueness that makes them so important to our family.
(remember it's quiet and everyone is asleep)
oh quick tangent....did you read the article about the 15 year old who sleeps for days.   It's some kind of disease called Klein Levin syndrome.   She has slept up to 13 days in a row.   Apparently she wakes up for a couple of hours to eat and drink and then goes back to sleep.   UNBELIEVABLE.   The first thing I said while watching the story with J.   "How awesome would that be?"   J didn't think that it was as cool as I did....even after I pointed out that the girl is 15 and that these are the toughest years and that the disease would most likely be gone within about 8 years which pretty much SKIPS the worst years altogether.  WOW !

I have great kids.  I mean wonderful, funny, playful, smart, loving kids.   They generally are good kids.
Would I like it if they slept maybe 15 hours a day at a time without interruption.  HELL YES !   Would I like it if they occasionally slept for a day or even two.   maybe.   maybe if we didn't have anything going on and it was the 3rd wheel who was a crowd that slept....leaving the 2's company to play without any fighting.   well then, HELL YES !

After I had laid there, craving graham crackers and milk, my wife surprised me by coming upstairs.   It was the 3rd quarter.   :)
I was FREEZING.  she let me tuck my cold feet under her legs.  We whispered for a long time and then still holding hands with my feet all warm and tucked away we went to sleep.
I love my family.  Everyone is sleeping now.   it's quiet.  like a calgon moment in 2010.  aaaah...sitting in the dark with only the humming of the computer and the light of the screen glaring in my eyes like a bermuda sunset.   I'm going to go and find a warm place to slide my feet under.
Goodnight !
