Clearly Emilia

It's Tuesday, time to play along with Susana's Custom Art and Card Design's Try It Out Tuesday challenge over on the store blog-Follow Your Heart! This week our DT leader Suzanne challenged us to use acetate/transparency on our project! I could find any sheet (I'm soooo organized!) so I cut apart an acetate sleeve/bag. Worked perfect! I used another of Anki's Sweethearts, Emilia, from the new release!
So let's take a little walk around this card! I assembled the DP and brown top layers and used the scalloped die to cut through. Centered, then cut through the pink base. The acetate goes between the brown and pink! Easy peasy, huh? The little square in the middle is affixed to the acetate with a matching square affixed on the reverse side! The inside words fit nicely behind the square on the green flowered insert! Now about that stitching. My fellow DT Lorelie does the most amazing stitching on her cards...after admiring hers, I so wanted to drag out my sewing machine and stitch away! I think it really adds a finished look to the shabby chic style I used here! Don't you? But alas, I didn't, it's faux stitching! I colored this little Sweetheart, Emilia, with prismas. Isn't she the prettiest little thing?! I cut out her legs, of course and a filled picnic basket. I promise to use her again in full form!
I used the pink and green colors today from Rosie & Dee's challenge! I was totally inspired by Sarah's design over at Crafts for Eternity that I used her design with this cool sketch! Also, Stampin' for the Weekend had this cool theme~ Rock & Roll 60's, so I choose the song, Time of the Season! Thinking this is summery and that's a season!
I hope you can play along with our Try It Out Tuesday challenge this week, hop on over to Follow Your Heart and checkout all the beauty the DT has to share!

Blessings!
