Pride !

Pride to me is a combination of chaos and reconnect.

There were over 30,000 people who went to pride last year. THIRTY THOUSAND !
People...this is Utah. The Mormon capital of the world.
I believe, although I didn't go last year due to bed rest with the boys, that there were more people this year.
It was SOOOOO crowded.

2 good things, 2 bad things !

First the bad....because why not get it over with.
**They sell tickets for drinks. A lot of people would stand in these horrific lines only to get to the front and be told...you need a ticket for a drink. It wasn't posted any where that I could see.
NOT JUST BEER.....SODA ! It was over 90 degrees. HOT AS HELL !! Come on people.....somethings gotta give. They expected you to stand in a line to buy a ticket...and then a line to get your beverage. DUMB !!!

**The HEAT !! Oh my gaw....the heat was overwhelming. There were lots of places to find shade, but it wasn't the sun I was trying to escape....it was kind of an overcast day. It was HOT people.

The good.
**Reconnecting with long lost friends and of course the infamous ex. :)
Seeing so many people from the past is one of the only reasons we make it to pride.
New babies, new girlfriends, new haircuts. It's all fun to catch up on in a few hours.
I ran in to my ex girlfriend (my first) and her new partner (an identical twin). LOVED her girlfriend and her sister. They were HILARIOUS ! We had a great time talking and hanging out with them both Saturday night and Sunday.
There were also a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in a long time that would say....we read your blog. :) So this is an official HI AND HELLO to all of my secret friend blog readers!!!! (you know you can post a comment sometimes so I know you are there)

**Seeing so many families. Lots and LOTS of gay families in Utah.
It was great to see so many supporters too. They have an area set up for the kids that included face painting, story time, and a fun bus that had a trampoline, zip line and rope wall in it. The kids area rocked.

I have NO pictures. I took my camera and I was going to wear a shirt that said...I'm blogging these pictures....but alas.
I'm certain that, Merr, Trista, Kori, and Kelly will post pictures. :)

Last but DEFINITELY not least.....CONGRATULATIONS to Jennifer and her cute little family. Her healthy, happy, baby girls came home yesterday.
