Tips & Tricks Thursday!

Hello Hello!

Today is Tips & Tricks Thursday over on the Skipping Stones Design blog and yours truly is the hostess:)

I used one of my favorite Skipping Stones Design sets....Funny Coffee vol #1.

This is the end product...are you curious about what might be inside?  You'll have to pop over to the Skipping Stones Design blog to take a peek at the inside of this card...

All the patterned paper/stickers are from one of my favorite Basic Grey's, Figgy Pudding.  The base is PTI kraft, the ribbon is from Stampin' Up.  The cup & saucer are on glue dots and the steam is ala ZVA.

I do have some other cards to share with you today...first up is this Cosmo Cricket'licious one:

I shared a pic of my yo yo flowers earlier this week and knew that I wanted to use it for a couple of challenges.  All the patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket Early Bird and the Fabric is from the same line.  The sentiment is by SRM.  A couple things, this is actually a sympathy card...going to a sweet gal who recently lost her father...she's a quilter so I knew that I wanted to add the yo yo to it and who says that all sympathy cards need to be 'controlled'..kwim?  I want to make her smile...

The other thing is that I wanted to thank all of you that took the time to vote for me in Cosmo Cricket's November Honorary Guest DT.  I really appreciate it and although I didn't make the top 5, I'm okay with that.  I feel that things happen for a reason and I'm not ready to be a part of that team...yet:)  I'm a persistent whipper snapper though...and my love for Cosmo Cricket will always be strong:)

I'm also entering this into Yvonne's Guest Blogger Challenge given by my buddie Sherry!  It is to incorporate a handmade flower.  Thanks for the fun challenge ladies!

I wanted to play along over at 2 Sketches 4 You...Kazan's sketch 64:

All the Nerdy goodness is from Torendi!  I picked up the Sassafras Nerdy Bird Journal Tags at the Torendi Shop!  I also used Stampin' Up Green Galore cardstock and the scalloped edge is a Nerdy Bird Cardstock sticker that I actually backed with the same pattern...so when you open it up, the rainbow print is on the interior too!  I added the bling for an extra pop of color and to mirror the colors in the rainbow:)

to a deer friend...

Hello!

How are you doin'? I'm still trying to recuperate from the weekend...My girl had a soccer game that was about 150 miles round trip from where we live...that is for recreational soccer not competitive...oy.

I managed to get a ton of DT work done over the weekend, which is always good. I also squeaked out some pub subs {crossing my fingers...}...that is a treat for me since I never seem to be able to carve out time to submit and evidently I tend to have the "I work better under pressure motto" and leave things to the last minute...

Anywho's...I've been so {happily} slammed with DT work that I haven't been able to jump into very many challenges lately so I was happy to whip up this card:

The first thing to note is I inked up my HIGHLY neglected TGF Forest Friends...omgoodness..it has been much too long...I stamped the deer on PTI kraft and surrounded her with October Afternoon goodness....the sentiment is ala A Muse. I stitched around the entire panel...can't seem to complete a card without stitching and my poor janome is getting old and tired...

I was inspired by Sasya's sketch 27:

I found the Sasya Sketch challenge blog via Dana and now Sherry's on the team too! You should check out the site...the design team is fabbie...such an international flair to it...the styles are all unique and wonderful, that's what makes up a great design team!
