Hi ya!

Here's a card using old and new'ish goodies....The new'ish would be the October Afternoon papers...I was able to combine Schoolhouse and Modern Homemaker!   The chippie in the center is from the Schoolhouse line. 

The old goodies?  I adore the My Cute Stamps snail image...from my FAV set, Little Forest Friends.  She's been paper pieced with Cosmo Cricket and Amy Butler paper....the ribbon is old too....May Arts from a swap dealio...isn't it pretty?  Perfect sentiment by A Muse:)

I love the Card Patterns sketch 96 and although it's 'closed' I still wanted to play...

I was also inspired by the current Etsy Inspired challenge #120:

I'm a huge fan of the uber-talented Jennifer McGuire...who isn't?! Well, I just recently read about another card drive that she is spearheading...this one for a little girl named Grace. Bottom line, as a Momma I cannot imagine the pain that someone must go through experiencing the loss of a child...it breaks my heart to read stories like this and if I can just help a smidge, I'm more than happy to help out...

I don't have a whole lotta kid-friendly images but the My Cute Stamps, Little Forest Friends, sure is sweet...I paper pieced the cute snail with Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg....the sentiment is my newest addition from the A Muse shop:) I love anything and everything A Muse but man, their sentiments ROCK. This is a wee card...4.25 x 4.25...

Oh I had fun with this one...a cutie pie pic of my boy from 5 years ago AND Echo Park Paper goodness!

This was a trip to {the very hot & humid} North Carolina where my oldest brother and sister-in-law live. All of us, including my Momma...took a roadtrip from where my Bro lives to the Outter Banks and stayed in a house on the beach....w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l! I'm the first to say that I LOVE living in the Pacific Northwest but I LOVE the Atlantic Ocean...warm, blue and gorgeous!

Well, today is the last day of November. Sadly, that means it is the end of my Design Team gig over at My Cute Stamps. I wanted to thank Holly for the wonderful opportunity! I had a ball working with her CUTE images...

chock full of goodness....

This blog post is a big one...perhaps it is my way of getting a smidge 'ahead' since I'll be taking the next 2 weeks at a slower blogging pace...getting ready for another Gift Show. I'll be 'off' on Monday-Wednesday and back again on Thursday.

Okay, this is my take on Kazan's sketch 40...I had fun with this one:

Seriously, there is something about the Hero Arts Three Christmas Dolls set....absolutely makes me happy!

I love teaming up the Jillibean black and kraft line together. What is that I see... yes, I did find my Eskimo Kisses 6x6 stack...yup, evidently I actually put it away...LOL...something that I didn't think that I had done! Don't you love the word bubble? It is from Elsie Flannigan/Red Velvet Art...you'll see some other things from her in a bit...

Here's a project I put together using some goodies from The Cutting Cafe. I used the wine bottle shaped card...put it together with a bottle of sparkling cider {LOL...I'm not a drinker...have you heard of Asian Flushing Syndrome?}. I also used the Merry Christmas Huge Printable Circle Word set.

Next up is a project for My Cute Stamps. I finally bought some felt and picked up the fabbie Sizzix flower die that I keep seeing out there in blogland. I did a smidge of hand stitching...great way to adhere the pale pink felt to the cardstock...Isn't that My Cute Stamps Owl just a Hoot?!

Okay, my peeps that know me will be proud...I actually baked on Thanksgiving! I had so much fun putting together these Red Velvet Cupcakes together! I got the recipe from Design*Sponge...it is the Waldorf Astoria one. I'll be honest, I didn't have much luck with the frosting...I followed the directions...it tasted good but it looked icky...almost curdled so I didn't want to chance it...I went to the grocery store and picked up some other frosting...I know, I know...for you bakers you are probably shrieking...appalled but hey, I'm not a baker and let me tell you, those puppies still tasted delish!!

I "had" to personalize one of the cupcake toppers...they are Red Velvet Cupcakes and Elsie is the queen of Red Velvet:) My boy helped me out alot...but I have to be honest...after the baking and frosting was over...my kitchen looked like a crime scene...red stuff everywhere!


We definitely had fun with the moustache's!

merry & bright...

I tell you, that'll be something that I'll never tire of saying!!!

I have a couple things to share with you today...first up is

{miss} m's sketch challenge #4

Savitri calls this her "sad face" but I think she is just tooooo stinkin' adorable!

I flipped the sketch and came up with this:

All the patterned paper and the die cut is MME. I love their stuff...can't get enough of their stuff! Psstt....I was the lazy bones crafter and didn't want to change out my thread on the Janome so I went with what was already threaded...chocolate...okay, it works...the outline of the text on the die cut is chocolate too..whew..good way to explain that one..LOL. I went with the unexpected ribbon choice...chocolate...to bring out the other chocolate and well, I didn't have red polka dot ribbon...bahaha...

Okay, several weeks ago I told myself that I wanted to make more non-sketch challenge cards...this is one of them:

Ahhhh...gotta love those My Cute Stamps snails...especially when they are wearing their sparkly shells:) The 'rolling hills' have actually been swiss dotted and are on pop dots...the hills are 2 separate panels...seriously, who doesn't LOVE Eskimo Kisses? I have to tell you though, I seemed to have 'misplaced' my 6x6 pad after this project. What the heck? I know...I must have travelled with it or something...travelled as in, IN MY HOUSE...oy...yes, I should share a pic of my crafting hallway...it's a MESS'ola.

You all know how much I love a 'good deal'...I mean, who doesn't?? Well, see my background paper? It is MM and glittered...guess where I bought it??? ROSS...good grief ladies...I couldn't believe it! Here's the thing, there was only 1 pkg left and in my true stealth ninja moves I swooped down and made my way to the cashier as quick as possible...what's that? How much did it cost? $5!!! $5....can you stand it?!!! How many sheets? 24! OY....did the room just clear out? Stampede over at Ross!!!

Okay, I better step away from the keyboard...somebody's had too much coffee and is crackin' herself up...yup, that's me!

Okay, so this is a monstrosity of a card...haha....I used Sassafras Monstrosity, There she goes and The Cutting Cafe on this wild & crazy card!! I added stitching on each of the panels and do you see the smidge of glitter? It is actually underneath the blue 'meet me for coffee' circle. That {bo-bunny} panel is actually on pop dots...added some PTI vintage buttons and called it good:)

Next up is a non-sketch challenge card...say it isn't so!!!! This is me, all me and nothing but me:) Okay, so the blue paper is from Kay {thanks girlie..it is from the Carolyn Gavin pad}...the felt and chippie are American Crafts...the chocolate glitter letters are Making Memories and of course the owlie and sentiment are My Cute Stamps.

P.S. My co-worker M is on a roll...she found me 2 more vintage frogs...woot woot...thanks M!!!

OMGoodness...I had sooooo much fun putting this card together!!! The Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper, American Crafts card base and the Shinzi Katoh "joy" Linen tape is from the Torendi October kit!!! Oy, that linen tape is over the top stinkin' CUTE!!!

Cranky Joy

No, I'm not cranky..lol..{actually maybe a smidge..read on} it is referring to the fact that I hand cranked my Janome sewing machine wheel around all the elements that have stitching...

1. It was super early...like super early in the a.m.

2. I'm not a seamstress...I'd totally mess up if I didn't hand crank.

I can't wait to see what YOU do with the 365 Cards Torendi Week color challenge...

Okay, onto a very NON-Crafty oriented subject:

T-Mobile Sidekick

I cannot be the only crafty blogger that uses the T-Mobile Sidekick....anyone else out there that has been hit by the crash of the Sidekick Microsoft Danger network????

I certainly wouldn't consider myself a techie person but what I AM is highly dependent on my phone...my address book...my notes...my pictures...**poof** they are gone.

It actually all started the day before I left for Florida...for a majority of my trip I didn't have my addy book, my email, my internet...well, my email/internet has been restored but everything is gone..I realize that in the 'big picture' having cell phone issues is small compared to the other bigger problems in the world, but if YOU have been hit by the Sidekick mess...please let me know OR if you are currently a T-Mobile customer and have a phone that you just love, please let me know:)

crafty goodness...

Happy Saturday!!!

I have a couple projects to share with you today...seems I'm in a red mood:)

First up is Laura's sketch 36:

I decided to use a black ShortCuts gift card folder {get them while you can!!}. I love the dp, red & blue is simply one of my favorite color combos! I fashioned a black removable belly band {with PTI vintage buttons and Kaiser bling} to keep the gift folder closed...

Here's the interior....I wanted to do a playful inside so I used one of my much hoarded hambly owls:)

Next is a fabriano My Cute Stamps card!! The cute mushie is from the You're Tweet set!

funny, huh? I know 'd' will love it :)

Are you still with me? Here's a Cutting Cafe Card!!

I used the Circle shaped card...love shaped cards! I teamed it up with the Huge Happy Belated Birthday circle printable. This has gone postal to a blogging buddy...hope she like it!!! I used Jenni Bowlin dp, Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red cs, PTI buttons, a Kaiser pearl, ric rac and of course, MM tiny alpha stickers...love those!

Happy World Card Making Day 2009!!

LOVE Kazan's sketch 36!!!

I adore scallops...love them! So I had a super fun time putting this card together. I have to tell you that originally I was going to go with the October Afternoon cherry paper but it was hitting me...what...October Afternoon not hitting me?!!

I think that the very sweet cherry image from My Cute Stamps' Sweet Kawaii was made to go with Cosmo Cricket Early Bird! I colored the image with copics...been meaning to do more copic coloring on the old kraft paper...love that look! The cherry patterned paper panel is on pop dots...I added PTI Pure Poppy buttons dressed up with Kaiser Craft pearls. Do you get the idea that I'm sooo lovin' my wide striped SU grosgrain? I tell you, I'm sooo glad that they brought in new colors this year...that stuff rocks....

Hello!!!

Hello, my name is Amy and I'm addicted to card sketches & challenges.

One thing I'm trying to do is design a card 'all by myself', well kind of....

In an effort to challenge myself, I'm trying to do one post a week without the help of a challenge or sketch. I know...can you believe it? LOL...I am however going to have the help from bloggie land. I absolutely soak up TONS of inspiration from blogs and will use that very inspiration to help me design cards.

Okay, so today's card has been inspired by the lovely work of Kelly Booth. I adore her sense of style {and her love of owls!}. Hopefully I have given her the justice that she oh-so-deserves...that woman is fantabulous!

This is a special card...special because it is going to a new 'deer' friend....

This is my first card that I made using MY NEW CUTTLEBUG! wooo hooo...that puppy is small and snappy. Can you tell that I used the Swiss Dot folder on the 2 layers of 'grass'? I ran my scallop circle through the ole CB too. All the patterned paper is ala Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Mini Deck {thanks Tami!}. I used my sweet Hero Arts deer, the porcupine is from My Cute Stamps and the sentiment is ala A Muse.

Happy Saturday!!!

This is my 2nd post for today..make sure you pop over to see my Card Patterns project!!

I love Laura's sketch 34 and wanted to play along this week. I have been wanting to use this sweet snail image from the My Cute Stamps set, Little Forest Friends. I had this idea brewing in my mind and love the combo of My Cute Stamps, The Cutting Cafe and Friendly Forest!

Talking about The Cutting Cafe...make sure you pop over there today...Regina is having a special 'cupcake' sale...come on, who doesn't love cupcakes??!!!!

Isn't the Martha Loop Edge punch fun? Pretty impressive how it 'folds up' for storage...those peeps at Martha are smart cookies. The 'snail mail' is ala Making Memories tiny alpha stickers and I used a Stampin' Up punch. No surprise that I stitched around the red polka dot panel...it seems these days that a card doesn't seem 'finished' to me unless it has some sort of stitching on it.

Well, today is filled with 4 soccer games...oy. We're also hoping to get some more school clothes shopping in too...

Just a smidge of enabling...wanted to let you know that the PTI Pure Poppy buttons are back in stock!
