This is one of those cards...you know...one of those...a little bit of this....a little bit of that....

This is definitely chock full of stuff....I pulled out my QK Instant Photo die....I backed it with some vintage K&Co embossed vellum paper with buttons.  Then I just started layering goodies....Can you see the Maya Road Crystal Star Trinket Pins?  Finally using those puppies...bought them in November at CKC...I layered buttons & pearls on the stars...

Ahhh yes...that Prima bloom...I've been hoarding those but felt it was 'time' to let go:)

I haven't scrapped for a while because of the weather...I blame the heat:) It's easy smeasy to slap together a card...it is a smaller canvas...but a 12 x 12 layout requires so much more thought processing...lol

I actually stumbled across this wonderful sketch on Sweet Peach Crop Shop's blog:

I routed it over to my bloggie buddie Sherry for a friendly challenge...make sure you pop over to her blog to see her inspiration from the sketch...I love her summery take.

Here's mine:

I absolutely LOVE this pic of me and the kids...it was taken back in 2008...they have changed sooo much since then...

All the paper is Pink Paislee's Queen Bee...Oh my goodness I love that stuff....I found that it actually coordinates with some of the K&Co Blue Awning line...that's where the chippies are from...the bling is Prima and the bloom is from Sherry! Perfect opportunity for me to de-hoard one of the several blooms I had commissioned her to make me:)

Check it out...I even used some of the Pink Paislee Artisian Tape...Each panel has been stitched and then the round panel is mega stitched...lol...I stitched around the circle about 4 times...

What really drew me to the sketch were the banners...love them...can't get enough of them...I teamed them up with buttons and bling....

This is such a wonderful sketch to work with...I was surpised at all the elements that eventually went into the layout...definitely one of my more time consuming layouts that I've accomplished...

Okay, I scrapbooked again...I was thoroughly inspired by the Pink Paislee Sunday Sketch by Jana Eubanks. I loved how she used embroidery thread to connect her banner:)

Boots? Okay, so I 'was' going to title the blog post, "booty-licious" but thought nah...LOL. This is for the These Are a Few of my Favorite Things challenge...Favorite Shoes. Good grief, there are 28 prizes up for grabs peeps...28 prizes...that's just insane.

Did I mention that I live in Washington State where it seems to rain, all the time...the last several days have been very rainy BUT these boots are going to be when I play "soccer mom" in the fall...the fields are muddy and nasty...but I'm going to be stylin'..hahaha...Yvonne...I journaled and it is ON the layout..LOL..

This is actually a primarily Sassy layout....the papers are from the Whale of a Tale line...I fussy cut the frames from a Vintage Yummy sheet...the buttons are PTI Raspberry Fizz...lookie...lookie...I found my black embroidery thread...grrrr...I stitched on the 3 sassy panels...the 'boots' alpha is Jenni Bowlin...I had a ton of fun!! I'm hooked on this scrapbooking thing...

This is my first time playing over at The Sweet Stop:

At my local craft store they had quite the display of K&Co, Poppy Seed...I'm a marketing person's dream customer...I bought the Framed Grand Adhesions and the Mat Pad {love those!}..

I've been sucked in with all the Gingham that has been around lately....I'm not quite obsessed as I am with polka dots but it's close:)

K&Co's Grand Adhesions are tricky little buggers...it looks like one piece...nada...it is three...good grief. Totally worth it though...love the dimensional look...

Here's my take on 'both' challenges...

Okay, you all deserve a little background on this crazy card...it actually started off differently...I used the Martha Stewart cupcake punch instead of the chippie....I didn't like the cupcakes because they weren't the right size...so what do I do? I do a little of this and a little of that...found the chippie that goes with the paper and there you go....it wasn't until later that I realized that I removed part of the JBelle challenge...grrrr....I took off the 2 punched items...sooooo....let's use our 'imagination' and pretend that I punched those chippies...LOL...sorry about that ladies...{shaking my head}...

I had a pretty productive weekend, did you? I still think that there aren't enough hours in the day...

Today's card is a fun mix of 2 challenges:

This is what I came up with...

Such fun challenges...the sketch was perfect for what I had in mind. The colors are delish, aren't they? The blue paper is from a K&Co boxed set that I just LOVE...it's something that I go to when I can't seem to find the right papers...the pink polka dot frame is a MME's diecut...the feltie bird is ala American Arts...I stitched around the blue panel with pink thread and I was lucky, the bird has stitching on her too!

Everything is nestled on a Speckletone Craft base...

trigger the blooms...

Bloggers...we have to continually be crafty in our post titles, don't we?! Sometimes that seems to be more of a challenge than the actual creations..LOL.

I haven't had a chance to play over at 2s4y in a couple weeks...Love Laura's sketch for this week!

It's me again...trying to hurry up Spring:) I used 3 different patterns from the GCD Canta line...Love it for the fresh & fun designs! The ginormous half bloom to the right of the PTI ribbon is actually fussy cut from my Rock Floral sheet...I don't know if you can tell by the pic but it is super glittery...all the black is black GLITTER...The first panel of patterned paper is Melodic Flowers...I added Kaiser Black bling on a majority of the blooms:) The glittery thickers were throwing me into fits because I couldn't seem to peel off the paper to expose the adhesive...grrr...that's what I get for keeping my nails so short:)

Next up is the Moxie Fab'alicious Tuesday Trigger...check out this delish card picked by Kim Hughes by Kimberly Crawford!

I had all these yellow ideas and check out my end result...

I was hoping that I had a similar yellow patterned paper in my stash...ladies, I have a ginormous stash of patterned papers but no such luck...so I was digging through a boxed set of K&Co paper and came across this fun zig zag goodness...

The Lemonade digi is from the fabbie Regina of The Cutting Cafe...I love the sentiment...I'm a firm believer that "things happen for a reason"..."take the good from the bad"..."learn from your experiences". The bling is ala A Muse Creative Candy..dontcha love that name? The ribbon and paper is Stampin' Up So Saffron...such a lovely color...so soothing. The button is actually a T $ Spot buy from years ago...it had a foam sticker on the back that I peeled off and it was also threaded up, which I clipped off to make room for the black waxed twine.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday over on the Cards Blog...

My Shaped Pinwheel card was picked up by the fabbie Paige! It was also super exciting to see so many of my bloggie friends have their cards highlighted too!!!

A Big Woot Woot for my Momma...today is her 70th Birthday!!! She is still quite the Spring Chicken and one wise chicklet...yes, sometimes she drives me nutty...hey, it is all a part of that whole mother-daughter relationship thing BUT she IS a strong independent woman. She traveled from Japan to the US in the late 50's. She married my Dad and had 3 kids...I have 2 older brothers. She eventually went from being a stay-at-home Mom to working full-time and raising me and my brothers as a single Mom. As an adult, I have learned so much from her and appreciate all that she has done {and continues to do} for us. I could go on and on about her but bottom line she is one fabulous woman, I'm so thankful for her and her health...

Whew....that was a ton of typing for me...thanks for stoppin' by and taking a peek at my cards for today...Come on back tomorrow for the 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday which is also Day 365! Can you believe that Christmas Eve is in 1 week? Oy

Today is my day over on the 365 Cards blog.

The Challenge is Ad Inspired.

I picked this Pottery Barn photo:

I've been having fun this Holiday season making cards with flocked paper. I bought several sheets of this gorgeous red MM paper. I teamed it up with a wool blend felt that I ran through with the Top Note Die. The Top Note panel is on dimensionals.

I recently re-discovered my K&Co Twinkle Type...

Okay, are you wondering about the title of my post for today, carpal christmas? I hand cranked my Janome wheel for all of that glorious stitching...I started to make this card in the early morning hours when the kids were asleep...why do I keep doing that?

The card base is a vanilla...probably Stampin' Up...and I've inked up the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa. I don't typically use white/ivory for my card bases {sheesh, I posted a card just yesterday with a white base}...I'm a kraft girl...or black...but I like how the vanilla makes the felt and flocked paper really pop.

xo and the deets on my candy...

I multi-tasked all weekend...I got to visit with friends on Saturday and Sunday..and was crafty:)

Here's one of the projects I worked on yesterday...CP41:

The coloring is slightly wonky in the pic...you gals recognize Cosmo Cricket Early Bird...the Red & White polka dot panel almost looks pink'ish but it is red...like the felt 'XO'.

Seriously, how can anyone tire of the Early Bird line...it is just sooo 'happy'.

The felt 'XO' is K&Co...I love anything made of felt..

Welcome to 365 Cards Pretty Paisley Thursday!

The challenge for today?

Use a paisley pattern on your card

This challenge was a slam dunk for me...I've had these gorgeous K&Co Paisley papers for years...I still love them!!! I stitched them together using chocolate brown thread. I cracked open my 7Gypsies chocolate velvet flowers that I've been hoarding and topped it with PTI vintage buttons and a Kaiser Crafts pearl. The sentiment is an American Crafts rub on...Everything is nestled on my favorite Speckletone Kraft base.

In an effort not to overload you all on Saturday {these days I seem to upload 3 cards on Saturday to catch up on challenges etc}...I though I'd double up today's post with another challenge card....I wanted to play M's Sketch Challenge #2:

I was thoroughly challenged by M's sketch....You should see my work space...paper and embellies everywhere...LOL.

I've been having a BALL with these nugget tins...they are such a nice vessel for anything and everything. This is Making Memories meets Martha....The pink glittery polka dot paper, the semi-circle scallop and the tiny alpha stickers are MM...you know what is Martha...yup, the loopy goodness...all topped off with thee adorable hedgie from My Cute Stamps. Did you notice it? Her nose is actually a Kaiser Crafts pearl...she is paper pieced with MM paper. BTW, you'll be so proud of me, I recycled the MM packaging and the scallop piece is from that:) The sentiment is:

Wondering what is inside? Hmmm...some very fun embellies...I'll wait to hear from the recipient before saying anything:)

a little nutty....

Well, I'm a lucky duck...I've been receiving the most delish BRAK's...so I'm going to showcase some of my goodies. The very FUN paper on my Card Patterns Sketch#31 is from the very fabbie Kay Sibley!!! Isn't it darling??!!! It is K&Co paper by Carolyn Gavin. I bought a stinkin' cute matching chippie set..isn't it just toooo fun?

I rotated the sketch and also decided to just stitch the green strips down...the alpha is Thickers Vinyl.

Sssshhh...this is going to the man:)
