one, two, buckle my shoe...

Happy Thursday!!!

Today is my day on the 365 Cards blog.

Pam's challenge 'seemed' to be an easy one:

one, two, buckle my shoe.
Any shoe will do, as long as it is featured on your card.

Well, I knew I wanted to use this Art Impression shoe image. Alas, this card didn't turn out how I originally pictured it...you know how that goes but seriously, I figure that you can't go wrong with Making Memories glittery paper.

Thanks to Ivy for the Paper Source black Ric Rac cards...I folded one in half and nestled it onto the black MM polka dot paper. I then added the pink MM polka dot paper on top of the ric rac card. BTW, the base card & Art Impression shoe is SU Basic Gray...love that color.

Here's the dealio...the interior of the ric rac card has a special message...ready for it....

Oy Vey, I had a hard time taking a pic of it but I used the MM tiny alpha stickers to spell out:

I miss shoe!

Friendly Owl...

Hello!

I'm back with this week's SFYTT!

It has been awhile since I've used my Friendly Forest stash'ola so I used that along with PTI Buttons and Kaiser pearls. Every panel has stitching on it...I tell you, I'm been going crazy on the Janome....perhaps one day I might be able to sew fabric together...LOL.

I just can't get enough of owls....

Monday, already?!!!

Where does the weekend go??? I had a fun weekend though...had Ethiopian food with the girls on Friday {we are always howling when we get together!!}, I spent Saturday crafting...Sunday is quality time with the man...gotta love that...we saw The Time Traveler's Wife...oy vey...loved it...cried like a baby {what's new}.

Okay, on to my project...I used Card Pattern CP29 and Use It no.24 for my project. I was thrilled to see that the magnificent Regina is the sponsor over there this week {woo hooo Regina!}. Anyways, I put together a little giftie using a $ spot magnetic note pad. I based everything off of that...I was having a heck of a time photog'ing it because of the height, that's why I did the au'natural outdoor photo shoot.

Use it recipe:

Make a cute paper gift: covered notepad

bling it up: I used pearls

Add a tag: gotta love that sentiment...colorful and lively

Cut out some flowers: do you see it? I made a lollipop flower and stacked a Jillibean soup felt flower on top of it.

Tie it up: I used the white Stampin' Up twill

I had a fun time putting this little project together...the cover is actually 2 separate panels since they are 9 inches tall...I cut each panel 9.25 inches and scored it at 9 inches leaving me 1/4 inch for the width of the notepad...am I explaining this? I used red liner tape and adhered the 1/4 inches together and made the cover...easy smeasy.

The pattern paper is my favorite by October Afternoon...I actually broke out my OA stamps and used that sweet deer...I used kaiser craft pearls on her back & the jillibean flower :) The Flourishes are from my chippie stash and I think the quote is KI memories. I stitched around the OA panel...I've been really into stitching on everything these days but I'm horribly lazy...that's why you only see white stitching...I never change out the thread on my janome..

Happy Monday!!

Okay, happy is pushing it as it is my 1st day back to work after being out for a glorious week. Hey, don't get me wrong, in this economy I'm super thankful that I have a job....it's just a challenge getting into work mode when you get back from vaca.

So, this is going to be a super quick post since I'm actually typing this up on Sunday evening and I'm beat'ola...we just got home around 7 pm and I have the washer and dryer running :) I decided to slam together a quick Cosmo Cricket card to get my mojo running for the week :)

This is for the Card Patterns sketch #28. What a super versatile sketch...fun stuff!!! All the patterned papers are Early Bird...even did a smidge of sewing! The striped grosgrain is from Stampin' Up {last holiday season}.

Okay, short & sweet....have a super week and I'm looking forward to blurfing!!!

Today's Thursday Challenge on 365 Cards is:

Spring Break!

Use the sun, sand, and surf to inspire you.

I don't know about you but sun, sand, and surf all equal surfboards and surfer dudes but since I don't have a surfer dude stamp it's gotta be a hula girl..lol. What better Basic Grey to use than Hang 10?!!! Sheesh, how ironic that almost a year ago I posted this Surf's Up card using the same Basic Grey paper and inkadinkado stamp??!!!

I don't think that I'll ever tire of the whole tropical/surfer theme...I paper pieced the surfboards....went through 6 different sheets of the {now retired} Hang 10 paper...note to self to let 'd' know about that since he's getting this very valuable BG card..lol...I'll have to translate it to techie-ness since that's his dealio, not basic grey {gasp!}.

So glad that today is Thursday which means that tomorrow is Friday!! woot woot! I've been really enjoying all your comments these days...you guys crack me up! I so enjoy this whole blogging thing...

Guess what was waiting for me by my front door the other evening? Yuppers...my NEW Janome....I've sooo missed sewing on my cards! I'm hoping that I can talk one of the guys at work to see if they can fix my other Janome. If it can be salvaged, I'll have one for paper and the other for fabric...yes, I want to get into "real" sewing...thanks to the super fabulous Amy Butler...how can anyone resist??? I've also recently discovered Heather Bailey via Craftzine.

I love cupcake shops....Yes, I love to eat cupcakes but I really love cupcake shops because of their fun interior design! Way back when I was younger and starting off in community college, I took interior design classes...unfortunately, I wasn't focused enough on school/studying so I ended up with a non-transferable general business degree...what the heck?! That totally came back to haunt me when I decided to pursue my bachelors degree a couple years ago...I "had" to take the math and science that I was trying to avoid when I was younger and yes, I did graduate with an Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences degree with a concentration in Psychology...whew! Anyways....sorry for detour...This sweet Cupcakes shop is by Stanley Park in Vancouver. Isn't it absolutely a-dorable?? I **love** all the pink & brown teamed up with the oh-so-cute retro look!!!
