I decided to join our 365 Cards Saturday Gal, Heidi,  in her challenge...the recipe from all the bits for the 365 Cards Vintage Week!  It's a regular Martha Stewart recipe...meaning alot of ingredients:)

Here's my card:

I have to be honest, the dimensional sticker threw me....but I found a fun crown sticker in my stash that I went ahead and distressed with Memento Rich Cocoa...the edges of the floral base have been distressed using my Heidi Swapp distresser {brownie points for both types of distressing?!}...you can't tell by the pic but the diecut has piercing along the edge...Here's a close up shot:

There are 3 prizes to be won this week, and there are 3 different ways to win.  The first is the usual way - just participate in the challenges and earn up to 7 changes to win the random drawing.  The second is to leave comments on each of the designer's blogs on their blog hop posts (but read carefully, you may have to answer a specific question to qualify).  The third is to participate in the Card Recipe challenge!

This is a multi-tasking card because I'm linking it to some other challenges out there in bloggie land...the first for Yvonne Yam's Guest Blogger's challenge by Julie Tucker-Wolek.  The challenge is to make a card with new and old stuff...The new stuff is all the G45 goodies that the fab Gloria Stengal shared with the 365 Cards Design Team {woot woot Gloria} and the old is that dimensional sticker... 

The next challenge is ala These Are a Few of my Favorite Things Challenge blog , Julie Tucker-Wolek is the hostess with the mostess!  There are a couple gals in need of thank you cards so the challenge is to make a fall colored thank you card...I decided to make one for Dolores {Julie's bloggie friend} who's best friend is fighting breast cancer on a very limited income being a teacher...the gals have asked for Thank You cards to be sent to them to have on hand for the many, many, many people that are assisting them in their time of need.  

Next up is my Mitten Weather Card!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel peeps...it's almost been a whole month since I challenged myself to design a card with Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather paper/elements.  It all started because of the Cosmo Cricket December Guest Designer Contest...random draw...yadda yadda...BUT I've managed to learn some stuff about myself...I'm a tried and true Cosmo Cricket fan...seriously love their stuff...I've been averaging 2 projects a day on a daily basis since I started this self-challenge...I gotta tell you, if I didn't start the Mitten Weather challenge, I'd be a hurtin' unit for Christmas Cards...haha

A little bit of zig zagging sure does dress up a card:)  I used a bunch of the Mitten Weather stickers on this card...Sweater Weather...gotta love that...I'm such a sweater girl!

Here's a sneak peek of my December Daily pages...

I thought I was being such a smarty pants by using the Making Memories Noel Advent Calendar for my December Daily....using that kit and teaming it up with the Noel 8x8's....plus all the other Noel goodies I have UNTIL I realized that my Advent kit is missing a '1'...grrrr...it is for day '19'....I've sent an email to Making Memories and to the store that I bought the kit from...crossing my fingers I get some type of help...seems silly BUT...come on...it's a kit...I'm into the matchy matchy thing...

A very merry unHalloween to you

A little decorating fun for the coming holiday - I dressed a doll in an Alice Halloween in wonderland (Graphic 45) inspired outfit, and put her in a funky "tea cup" that I found at Michael's in the clearance section - lots of ribbons, laces, and tea implements along with some tarot cards and packets of tea.

I am no longer on the Scrapgal DT so I will have a lot more time for painting, sewing, and knitting; and of course, scrapping.  I am currently working on a couple of fun holiday projects for Gecko Galz, and I just found out this week that the book in which I will have a knitting project will be available by Thanksgiving. I am very happy!  I resigned up with Scrapbook.com as ChrisAiton and am busily finding "friends". I could never figure out my old login' and then I found it on a friends list - I wish that I could delete the old one but haven't figured that out yet so if you find my new one, please send me a friend message.

Hope you are having a good week - I admit this one started out pretty stressful but once things sorted themselves out, I feel so relieved and much happier, and I will be very happy this weekend - LOL! Tomorrow night Dan is taking me for dinner to one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate, and I plan to bake myself a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting so I am wishing everyone a very merry birthday or unbirthday, whichever applies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

armed and dangerous...

Happy Saturday!!!

This is what I call real-time blogging...which I seldom do....I typically have all my posts scheduled...BUT I was going to work on today's card last night but some friends stopped by...we got to chatting and before I knew it....it was 10:00'ish...peeps, I will turn into a pumpkin...I wake up so early that I usually go to bed early. Anyways....onto some craftiness...

I wanted to play along with Cath's MFW Taintor-tude Challenge! So I decided on an image and hunted down a sketch that would fit it...

I didn't buy a whole lot at CHA...but I did pick up this fun sheet of Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps.

Those that know me...know that I love my coffee...maybe a little too much....anyways, I used Graphic 45 paper and I found the quote on Anne Taintor's site...good grief, I would have never thought of that sentiment...LOL.

I know! Shocking....I even decorated the interior of the card...I happened to see the Starbucks VIA package on my desk and wanted to incorporate that into my design....I have to tell you..that quote cracks me up...I was reminded of it when I googled Coffee Quotes.

Well, today is the final day of the gift show....Cross your fingers that my table does well:)

I've decided to be more active on the gift show wagon...It will be a great way for me to save up for that "dream crafty space". I'm thinking of moving my space from upstairs {glorified hallway space, no windows, no electrical outlets} to the dining room downstairs...much more natural lighting AND electrical outlets. We seldom use the dining room table and if I had cabintery put in {floor to ceiling} I could utilize the space more...

Happy Monday!

Whew, the weekend went by so quickly...I was able to get a ton of stuff done which makes it even beh-tah:)

I'm back with the latest and greatest Card Patterns #47. I'm lovin' the new Design Team and their different takes on the sketch!

Here's my take on it:

Dontcha love the Graphic 45 papers? I love the rich colors and the butterflies are simply fabulous!! The eiffel tower paper is done by making the strips loopy:) The black panel has been quickutz'd..everything is nestled on a speckletone kraft base.

Happy Saturday!!!

It's been chilly here in Washington...the kids tell me it may snow next week. They are excited, me...not so much, I really don't like to drive in the stuff....especially the 30 miles to work.

We picked up a noble tree last night...the last couple of years I've been going to the same tree lot...they bag the tree and tie it to the roof of my car:) It's actually pretty hilarious seeing me 'unload' the tree...I roll it off the roof of my car...

Okay, onto some craftiness....I played with Laura's sketch #40:

I teamed up Graphic 45 with a new Cutting Cafe $0.99'er! OMGoodness...it's an OWL!!! I colored his hat and body with Copics and then glittered up the brim of his hat and the pom pom. I also went ahead and glittered up each of the scallops. I used that Stampin' Up eyelet border punch again...The ribbon is also Stampin' Up.

Yesterday I booked over to the Holiday Gift Sale that Paulina of Pretty Pink Posh was selling her fabbie projects at:

I actually bought a bunch of stuff from Paulina's sister, Krista of Bella Cafe. Hmmm....it's all pretty much gone:) I should have taken pictures before we ate everything...cookies, chocolate dipped oreos...chocolate dipped pretzels....DE-Lish! Thanks Krista!!!!

Today is the last soccer game for my boy's season...then tonight we celebrate my brother's birthday....he's going to be 45....good grief...that's old...I should tell you that he is my much OLDER brother:)

housewife...RAK...deets about candy...

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!!!

Well, last week's sketch was a bit tricky...this week's:

This week's sketch is...oy.

I looked at it and looked at it....and decided to just take the leap and well, get sewing:
Yup, each of the strips of brocade Graphic 45 is stitched down to the red panel....I added the ZVA flourish to add a smidge of 'bling' to the 'lonely' side of the card...you know you are getting old when you can't really read what's on a die cut...good grief, the text size on the "housewife" piece is soooooo tiny...something about 'Our new doily...stamping outfit'....help...what does that translate to? LOL...

I'm actually going to be sending this to a friend of mine...she has made the decision to make a career change...so at the end of the year she'll be leaving her job....she'll take a couple months off and then do 'something new'....pretty exciting if you ask me...I'm happy for her...we have been cracking up about her becoming a housewife...if you knew this girl, you'd know that she's always been career driven. It will definitely be a huge change of pace for her. I know that everything will fall into place for her......shouldn't we all be doing something that we love?

I'm going to share a RAK that I received from the very lovely Elaine. We met through a ribbon share that she had on her blog...probably about the same time I started blogging...I feel like I've known Elaine for-ever. This gal CRACKS me UP!!!! I met up with her during lunch on Friday and we were laughing the entire time {we were ninja shopping..LOL}.

Anyways, here's the most fabbie card she hand delivered to me:

Isn't it absolutely fantabulous??!!! Check out all those magnificent flowers and all the details...pssstt....the girl can shop..LOL.

We've been actually talking about something to do to gather some ♥♥Pacific Northwesteners♥♥....a shoe box card swap? a mini garage sale {somebody's old is your new!}....whaddya think ladies??? brewing up some fun...

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!!!

Here is the sketch.....ooooh...I love tall cards so I rotated it....I can see using this, a ton... I was able to play with the Paper Popsicles September Monthly set! It is chock full of home♥ish items...lamps...tea pots...cup & saucer...so I decided to go the caffeine route...big surprise, huh?

Grrr....sorry about the funky photo....but I cringe when I have to photog tall cards...

I used the Paper Popsicles tea pot/cup & saucer images {they are both on pop dots}....the "brewing up some fun" sentiment is by A Muse. The patterned paper is from Graphic 45...I've been really lovin' their stuff lately...so I went funky and combined the gorgeous damask with the red polka dots...These days I seem to have polka dots on all my cards. I didn't actually realize it until the fabbie Sandra commented that one of my recent cards had 3 different polka dot papers on it!!

I do tend to hoard my ZVA crystals...love, love, love the stuff but check it out ladies...I dehoarded and used the flourish completely intact...no snipping...no clipping...haha

I stitched the card all the way the damask panel..

Okay, so I may have been the first person to arrive at the sale...yes, she is at least 30+ miles away from me but I was on a mission:) I have one word for you:

I'll share pics tomorrow but thank goodness it was a worthwhile trip {although I knew it would be}...because the soccer game was absolutely FREEZING....on a totally MUDDY field...there were a ton of parents grumbling...one was kicked off the field...good grief...by the time I got home, I was thoroughly cold, muddy {hmm...the soccer ball kept gravitating towards me..almost hit me twice!} and exhausted...I just couldn't bear the thought of driving 20+ miles to CK Seattle....waaaaahhhh.....I missed meeting up with Ginny...

On a positive note, I spent quality time with my boy...my girl was recovering from a sleepover last night...she didn't get much sleep so she went to bed at 5 pm last night!

Domestic Goddess

Okay, I had a ton of fun putting these 2 cards together.

I'm entering both of them in the Moxie Fab World Around the House Challenge.

The first one is for Kazan's Sketch #35. I rotated the sketch and did my thing :)

(Hey Sherry & Tami...check it out...Graphic 45!!).

I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket for the local Ben Franklin Craft Store. Well, they had a whole display of this magnficent Graphic 45 stuff....Domestic Goddess. Isn't she fabulous...complete with a crown!

I stitched the 2 panels together....1/4 of the way down my stitching went wonky...grrrrrr....so being the way that I am...I took the time to remove the stitching and lined it up and went for it again. I couldn't bear to 'toss out' the panels...especially since I only bought 1 sheet of each pattern. So although this card looks like it should be a slam dunk, it ended up being quite labor intensive.

Yes, I'm using more of the ZVA crystals...love them...tons....I yet again altered the shape {snipped here and there} to make so that it would fit...and what's that I see...yuppers...a PTI Pure Poppy button!! wooo hoooo!!! I distressed all the edges, including the Domestic Goddess tag...

Next up, a new challenge site for me....

I've had those for, well, years...I happened to go to a Packaging Specialties 'garage sale' and picked them up there.

Thanks to my very magnificent friend 'm' for the gift cert...I also bought one of these and one of these.
