Honeymoon Two Travel Journal Part One...

I finished our Honeymoon Two Travel Journal a couple of weeks ago, and I'm excited to share it with you! It was a trip we took to Tennessee in the fall of 2008 to celebrate being married one year! I split the pictures up into two groups because there are a ton of them and it might be a bit overwhelming - LOL. Anyhoo, here's the first part of the album...

The cover is made from an 8x10 inch postcard that we got in Dollywood. If you're not familiar with Dollywood, it's a theme park designed and owned by Dolly Parton, in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee, which is where Dolly is from. I just loved this huge postcard of Dolly...


I was going to use my bind-it-all to bind the album, but it got too thick, so instead I used these huge rings. Each charm has significance to the trip. The green plastic thing is a room key from Nashville that is shaped like a guitar...

Michael contributed to the journal during the trip too, which makes it so much more special!

Our first stop was Nashville! I tried to make use of ephemera we collected on the trip, like this road map on the left, and hotel map on the right that I used for background pages...

I'm a huge Willie Nelson fan, so it was super fun to stop by the Willie Nelson museum in Nashville...

Going to the Grand Ol' Opry was a highlight for both of us! We went to the Opry's 83rd Birthday Bash! The background paper on the right is the bag that our souvenirs came in...




After the Opry, we headed from Nashville to Pigeon Forge, to stay at a cabin in the Smoky Mountains...

Here are some photos taken at our cabin. On the right is a Hambly transparency. I colored the backside of the rose so it stands out a little more...


I had to leave some of the strips on the bottom of the October Afternoon papers, since the trip was in October!
